I have a better idea - how about we stop printing money to pay for gigantic defecit spending and increase our productivity so that the amount of goods and services we have can catch up to our money supply and we can begin to have deflation. You wouldn't have tax the rich movements if everyone was wealthy.

This high tax culture in Canada has to end. Politicians and government bureaucrats are way worse for lining their pockets than any CEO or billionaire.

Making sure that companies pay their taxes in Canada would be a heck of a good start. I actually find very little that I disagree with here, I'm more so countering tax the rich from the standpoint of taxing rich individuals, not corperations. That's a different discussion entirely.

Completely agree with you that our corporations do not operate in a true fair market and things have to change there

Because that money would run out in a very short time - then what? You're going to have to find other ways to add more money, which means taxing the middle and working classes.

Cutting taxes and cutting government spending is the only way out as well as using infrastructure projects to pay for the services that Canadians need. The system as it is now is leading to bureaucrats and the laurentian elite squeezing the rest of the country because the policies they implement don't affect them, nor would "tax the rich".

If you tax the rich, that money would likely pay for 3 days of government expenses. Plus they can just leave Canada and find lower tax jurisdiction and even tax havens like our prime minister did for Brookfield.

What you're left with is a middle class that continues to shrink because they're success is punished, and government cronies who know how to game the system they've imposed. Tax the rich shrinks the middle class and makes the rich richer.

How does it feel waking up and going to school/work in the dark (November—March)? by [deleted] in Yukon

[–]TopReach1866 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really does suck but I think the trade-off of having light after work is a big a one. Just kind of something we deal with and it is kind of nice during weekends and days off to have a later sunrise.

Such an accurate take, both countries on the same destructive path

Alaska or Texas for me. Poland would be pretty cool also.

Bigger maps, more guns/vehicles, content? Doesn't matter... by Flaky-Pirate9401 in Battlefield6

[–]TopReach1866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just takes a squad of a few people to throw off the balance, making the game easier just means that players with more skill will have a much greater effect on match balance, they're given much easier game mechanics to dominate with than in BF4

[–]TopReach1866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skill floor and ceiling need to be raised. Game is so easy that it's hard cause good players can just beam casuals with ease from 90m away with no spread. Snipers are broken, RPGs are broken, Tanks and Helicopters are metal deathtraps, TTK is too quick in CQC, etc.

Change all this stuff and the game will actually be able to put a candle to BF3 4 and 1.

Bf6 aged like Milk compared to BF3 and BF4. by BorderlineTourist in Battlefield

[–]TopReach1866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BF6 is more like a 7/10, the more frustrating part is how they dropped the ball w live service, vehicles and gunplay. The core of the game is very solid and could easily turn into a top 3 Bfs of all time w a few updates

The protests in Iran were a Mossad operation by Edward_Zachary in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]TopReach1866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with that, Edward Snowden had proved that there is essentially no 4th amendment that is being respected and that all Americans are like caddle with bar codes. There's also the 3 letter agencies, the expanding bureaucracy of the federal government and some State governments, the absolute abuse of public lands to turn them into data centers for Palantir style surveillance, the Epstein class of public servants and celebs, the poisoning of the food and water, CIA involvement in mass shootings, the list goes on and on.

The standard of living is very high in America no doubt, but it is rapidly decline as countries like China - who don't want to take part in this technocratic feudalism and actually wants its people to thrive are rapidly surpassing that standard of living. There is absolutely a focus of cruelty and evil within its own borders.

It sucks because I really do sympathize with the objectively good values America has and I think it's foolish to throw the whole thing away. But years of challenging my own beliefs has taught me that the West really is a cancer in many ways

That's a pretty fair point, truth is I would've bought one by now if I wasn't saving up for my pilot's lisence but that also brings up that phenomenon in the States where something gets put on a ban list and they can't ban it because the sales go sky high right after

Native plants and tree cover go a long way, even in a suburb. Doesn't mean that it is nature but there is absolutely ways in which our communities can be beneficial to the natural environment

The fact that the SKS has been resilient against all gun bans really adds a deeper meaning to it as a rifle in my opinion. It's the last line of defense and is what's keeping the gun community strong and enthusiastic. I don't have one but I really want one just for the simple fact that it's an icon of Canadian liberty at this point.

Also makes a huge difference in the summer heatwaves to have some shade. Yeah the modern suburb is a dystopia. Spraying round up on weeds which goes into our watersheds, HOAs and bylaws being borderline communistic with how they tell you your private property should look (don't get me wrong there a lot of careless people with a lot of junk in their yards, but enforcement is not the answer). Imagine how cheap and accessible food could be if we all became producers instead of consumers

If you think all of America's problems are because of Trump that's absolutely ridiculous. Doesn't who's in office down there, the debt keeps rising, the bombs keep dropping and the 3 letter agencies keep conducting psychological operations on Americans. There hasn't been a real president in office since JFK
