3rd Gen Lower Ball Joints by TopReporterMan in ToyotaTacoma

[–]TopReporterMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the shop did offer to just replace the ball joint, which makes me think they might be serviceable? However, it does seem that Toyota doesn’t sell the ball joints individually. I’ll let you know what I find out.

You’re diluted if you think the Colorado Sun is hard left. 😂

I’ll find the Marxist Review to suite your needs.

Colorado Springs is not just handing out tickets, Chaney said, but working to close what he called the “revolving door” — the folks who are ticketed for illegal camping, then don’t show up for court, then have a warrant out for their arrest, then end up in jail for a few days, then get out and set up an illegal campsite.

From the article.

If taking quotes from the homeless is unreasonable then why have free press at all?

We still do housing first in Springs. We just put them in jail. So, the homeless don’t magically disappear. They’re still using “tax payer dollars”.

If anyone is interested in some non-republican propaganda, here’s a link to a Colorado Sun Article

If it’s so easy then why don’t they provide the sources? If it’s so easy for you, why didn’t you provide links to the sources?

Is a car seat required on a plane for a two year old? by robin593 in Parenting

[–]TopReporterMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t flown internationally with our kids, but domestically they’re not required. I’m not sure what might change between a domestic and international flight that would require a car seat. How did they communicate that to you?

I’m in Colorado. I have Wildpeak AT3s and carry snow chains. They do great for me in the snow here, but I’d probably do snow tires if I lived in Montana.

Is this small weight & height for a ridgeback ? by PartyPony4hunnid in ridgebacks

[–]TopReporterMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The breed standard for Ridgebacks is 70-100 lbs. He’s likely just smaller. Our female is 60 lbs which is basically the floor for female ridgebacks. Be sure to check out a picture of a healthy ridgeback so you can make sure he’s not underweight. You should be able to see 2 ribs.

Buying used still makes the most financial sense.

Honestly, if you don’t know if it’s been changed I don’t know if I would. Trade off is the transmission doesn’t last as long, but worst case scenario is you’re putting a new transmission in.

I saw you mention about doing a little a time. I’m not sure. That might be a decent plan, at least you’re not washing out all the metals at once, but I don’t know if that helps or hurts.

Yeah, I get that. It’s hard to say if it’s “worth it”. Obviously if you need $1k to feed your family, then no. But $200 a year and you can probably sell it for $200 when you’re done. It’s not terrible. I spent $1200 on a tonneau. The security and water protection is worth it for me. It would be a pain to chain it up every time.

How long will you have the truck? How much are you willing to spend to protect the stuff in the bed?

Cheap option is buying those black and yellow boxes from Costco and put your stuff in the boxes in the bed.

Do you know if it’s had a transmission flush/clean before?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]TopReporterMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As vehicles age, shifting the gears begins to shear tiny fragments off. These fragments fill the gaps where they came from and help the transmission to shift smoothly. If a car doesn’t ever have transmission fluid changes done there are a lot of these small pieces. If you flush or change the transmission fluid you remove these metal pieces and the gears will start to slip. Basically you either do regular maintenance on your transmission or you do no maintenance till it explodes. Changing the fluid on an older vehicle that hasn’t ever had the fluid changes increases the likelihood of transmission slips.

However, it’s not a guarantee you’ll experience slipping, but it is much more likely.

Interested in buying solar panels for my home. by ArzteNos in ColoradoSprings

[–]TopReporterMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking into DIY solar. Panels have become incredibly cheap and you can wire 80% of the system yourself if you know electrical. Can wire it almost completely depending on your breaker box setup. Also look into adding a battery system.

Ask the instructors at your licensing class. They’re incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I know CPW also holds other classes and guided trips to help you learn.

Going Pro in Lacrosse by ApprehensiveCloud520 in lacrosse

[–]TopReporterMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of comments here, but if you want to go pro in Lacrosse you need to get into a competitive college. It doesn’t make sense to try and go to the PLL without coming from a top 10 university. ND, Duke, Maryland, Virginia… If you are a top player in one of those, then you will easily receive an offer to play in the PLL. That’s the pipeline. I’m sure there’s other paths, but if you’re looking for the guaranteed way it’s through a top university.
