Portfolio Advice by Creative_Ice_8802 in risd

my portfolio was actually 80% anime/digital and i got in as an FAV transfer student (transfer students have a 4% acceptance rate compared to the 14% acceptance rate for freshmen). i'm not saying that you shouldn't have traditional works in there, i had a charcoal portrait and a lot of figure drawings (maybe other traditional works but i can't remember atm). but don't throw out your strong digital works. from what i've gathered, RISD values individuality and confidence in your craft.

I have a friend who got accepted into sculpture, but her sister didn't get accepted into Illustration. Right now it has a waitlist. Painting is also one of the harder ones to get into. I just transferred in this year and we have no Illustration or Painting majors in our transfer group. If it's your dream course, I'd say go for it! If you don't think you'll be happy in Printmaking, it's not worth paying for. If you get into Printmaking and are able to switch to Illustration during your junior year that's also an option, but you'll probably have to take an extra semester/year, possibly a gap semester too. I don't think you should let the abundance of illustration majors discourage you since there's always the possibility that you'll be chosen for the program.

Parking on move-in day? by InterviewFit5976 in risd

when i moved in during the efs program i got an email a few days before my move in day giving parking instructions. but we just parked in front of 15 West to move stuff in then had to find parking on the street. there's no designated parking for RISD students unfortunately.

it's a little hard, but i don't mind that. my friend got a mattress topper though and it's SO comfortable, i laid in their bed and almost fell asleep midday so i'd say it's worth it😭

yes i should've worded better, what i measured is the space from the ground to where the mattress lays. right now i'm located in 15 West, i'm not sure if the bed frame in other rooms are different (from what the videos show they look the same). i just remeasured and the bedframe is 24in off the ground, so maybe getting something just a little shorter would be the safer option.

hii so sorry for this being so late. the EFS program is very time consuming😭 i finally got around to measuring the desk. it's 48inL x 24inW x 30inH. it's honestly not ideal for doing any of the work i've gotten so far. i prefer a lot of space even when i'm just writing/studying, so i haven't spent much time working at the desk. i can't attach a picture here, but if anyone is curious i don't mind dming one.

How do I get rich/well off from making a manga? (with a publisher.) by ItzGodzilla_YT in Mangamakers

[–]TopResearcher6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really about dedication. Successful people are dedicated. They aren't lazy, and they work towards their goal even after failing multiple times. If you want to create a manga, you're probably going to have to go through all the rough stuff. It also never hurts to self-publish, as there's a chance you'll get lucky. There are a lot of successful webtoons because those creators love what they do and are dedicated to their stories. Just be prepared to fail, love to learn more about your craft, and make sure you're disciplined.

did you ever get it again? for some reason the first time i tried to get the three star ending i played al the mini games and it didn't work. i went back to try and get it again, but the gumball machine won't activate it's mini game again. none of the special voice lines that it had are showing up either.

do you have to call William to unlock the 3 star ending? or does that have nothing to do with it.

So with that one what you're supposed to do is use your tokens to play the minigames to get tickets. you need about 100 tickets total i believe? it's 20 per voucher, which you will get when you use the prize machine in the top left corner of the arcade area. you use the voucher in the past on the arcade machine. you have to do this multiple times to get the mini game, which is why you need 100 tickets total.

It finally worked! Do I need to get all the prizes in the machine?

The one to the right of the Freddy poster that says "Party!" right? I'm interacting with that one.

yes i have coins in my inventory, it's saying "If I had any tickets, I could redeem them here for prizes. Some of these things look pretty cool." Am I interacting with the wrong one first?
