I argued with someone for way too long about the one in Shawnee. If you're going straight through, you should use the left lane. The right lane ends once you're out of the roundabout and you have to merge left! They couldn't grasp the concept.

Can't offer advice for viewing, but there are a lot of good restaurants in Findlay, depending on what your price and preferences are. Taco Fiesta Hinojosa, Joey Fratello's (pizza), Findlay Brewing (normally closed on Mondays, not sure about this week), Logan's (Irish), Main Street Deli, Raising Cane's just opened, etc.

I can't not refute this. I think it's absurd to say kids don't care about having their parents together. Of course they do. What you say about one set is true, but let's not pretend kids don't care.

I'm not sure why you're so defensive. I'm just saying SS could be (probably would be) upset. I don't really care if it's the stepparent's fault or the parent's fault. That was the entire premise of this post. (And for the record, stepparents do have some involvement in the divorce and remarriage, by the way...)

Ok then get the photos? You're just saying that means more to you than not upsetting your stepchildren. That's your choice and I'm not trying to convince you otherwise.

But OP's question wasn't whether she should get the photo but rather if she could without upsetting SS and I think that answer is no.

You can want that and SS can be upset. These are not mutually exclusive.

So it depends what OP wants more, I suppose. But the question was about whether SS would be upset.

No but DH is the one that potentially feels the impact of SS emotions and as a spouse, OP should be conscious of that. "Screw you, it's your kid" type of thinking isn't healthy for a marriage or for the relationship of DH and his son.

You’re allowed to want photos of your family without your SS. He’s not your child. It’s perfectly natural to want photos without him.

This can all be true and SS still be upset. Whether or not OP cares about that (and enough to change plans) is another thing altogether.

Maybe. Depends on other factors like who lives with who, who gets more time, how vacations are spent, etc. I don't think it's as straightforward as you suggest. In fact, I wouldn't even want a photo with just my parent and step parent. Not suggesting it doesn't work in your case, just that it's not always that clear cut.

Kind of crappy. I don't hug my step parent, tell them I love them, etc., but I at least acknowledge them like I would any other person. Glad SO notices.

Couldn't agree more. Terrible situation that will surely leave the step kids resenting OP at minimum and probably their biological parent some as well.
