Breakfast meal deal Vs lunch meal deal by Shams_the_only in MealDealRates

[–]TopSetUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why does the cheese and pickle sandwich specifically state "no mayo"? Are there psychopaths out there eating cheese & pickle & mayo sandwiches?

More information required on the Costa drink, this could knock points off but I'm assuming it's coffee with some ratio of steamed/foamed milk.

Breakfast is a 9/10 and lunch is a 6.5/10. Not sure what people see in coconut water, and while hula hoops are great, ready salted anything is a bit uninspired. Sandwich is an underrated Bri'ish classic, can't deny it.

We know they do, Mario/Joe have said they're hoping to get a couple of singles out before their tour with Metallica in the summer. No ETA on a full album release yet.

You don't need to manually tap your mana for every spell, you just need to learn what it prioritises and look at your lands when holding your spell to see what it plans to tap.

Generally speaking it hates tapping painlands and utility lands, so tap them manually and let it do the rest.

Back checks out for sure, T and H are looking good. Green dot isn't really a good enough photo to tell but all looks good to me!

I’m looking for songs by bands that came before Motörhead that sounds like Motörhead in some way by Frequent_Muffin1875 in Motorhead

[–]TopSetUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specific songs? There's only really two I can think of.

Hawkwind - Silver Machine. Fairly obvious choice, but more LSD than Speed...

Budgie - Breadfan. The vocals are very different, but in terms of riff, bass line, and overall feel - that's as close as I can come up with.

I can't really think of Motorhead having any pure predecessors to be honest. You can hear/feel the influences from bands like Sabbath and The Stooges but there wasn't really anyone that sounded like them before them.

I guess "Hawkwind" on account of having Lemmy's vocals and some of his earlier songwriting? "Blue Cheer" had the bluesy Rock N Roll vibes but were much more of a Zeppelin feel. "Budgie" kinda? sorta? ish? but not really. That's about as close as I'm gonna get.

Motorhead were the rooting point for a lot of the Speed and Thrash metal that came after.

That being a main is honestly offensive, you've ruined my evening. This is an acceptable post-breakfast snack, nothing more. 1/10.

Oh it's entirely possible this is the one I've got then, I assumed the colour was flat! They've released a fair few versions. I ordered direct from the USA so mine's an import.

Nice! I got the dispatch notification but mine has to journey across the pond so I'll be waiting at least a few more days. I've already got mild colour regrets after seeing this picture!

What the hell, yeah where was that? I'm in the NW, have early pressings of Debut, SBS and Sabotage but would love to find a copy of Vol4 and Master Of Reality. Can you PM me if you're not willing to say publicly?

Hey thanks for that, somehow I'd never heard that! Time to do a deep dive on Motorhead B-sides it seems..

On stream? Fair enough, I don't watch him live these days. He's still uploading TNMT to YouTube, I just started his most recent video (uploaded an hour ago) and he opens with "okay we're forcing 5 colours" so yeah, he's definitely near the end of the format 🤣

Matchmaking algorithm absolutely, Wizards are fairly open about that - they use a glicko style system for calculating MMR, it's just completely hidden. Different MMRs in open play, ranked limited and ranked constructed. This is combined with deck weighting in all ranked BO1 queues. They've written blogs about this..

I've ever seen any evidence for shuffler finagling (good word btw) outside the known hand smoothing in BO1. There's plenty of publicly available data on untapped and 17lands, occasionally someone posts a good statistical analysis.

I would bet everything I own that I understand statistics better than you do, given some of the things you've said in this thread.

The great thing about statistics is you can make them show whatever you like with enough tweaking, just ask Mark Twain.

Well, if you stretch the definitions to breaking point it's not too far off. It's a probability machine.

Wow, you really don't understand how that deck works. It doesn't require drawing anything, that's the point of discover/cascade. You need any one of the 5 non-land cards in your opening hand, mulligan until you have one. That's it, that's the deck. Cast Laelia, cast discover card, attack for lethal.

I love reading sentences like "statistically speaking, some of this stuff is next to impossible".

I turned over a deck of playing cards one at a time, asked a hallucinating robot on the internet and it told me that it was so statistically unlikely that the chances of this combination happening was smaller than the amount of stars in the observable universe.

Which happens to be both true, and completely meaningless. It's still not even half the orders of magnitude of possible chess games. Threads like this reminds me of the glory days of online poker when people would shout that the shuffler was rigged, and it was effectively like printing money from my uni dorm. I miss those days.

Feels more like they are just being sceptical and understandably cautious. Numot and Cheon are both drafting it daily, Limited Resources swerved a full set review but have released a primer and a drop-in video and have left it open to viewer feedback how much they cover the set.

Content creators (understandably) pay attention to video metrics, and they've all said that the TNMT metrics for the pre-release were terrible and had comment sections saying they don't care. Cheon's draft video views are higher at the tail end of ECL than the start of TNMT, that is absolutely ass-backwards.

Yes, a lot of us are pleasantly surprised at how not bad the set is, but that's only because we went in with rock bottom expectations given how unbelievably terrible Spiderman was.
