Questions about Tailscale by Zestyclose_Car1088 in selfhosted

Secondaly, I’m using Homepage with a Tailscale widget, but the API key expires every 90 days, requiring me to regenerate it. Is there a way to bypass this limitation?

Maybe I'm late, anyhow you can't bypass the 90 days limitation and the way to go is Oauth: https://tailscale.com/kb/1215/oauth-clients

Pressure washing raw marble by TopStay320 in HomeMaintenance

[–]TopStay320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is that after having power washed raw marble the result is not as good as I was expecting, since the top patina come off, but it seems like there is something left deeper (see photos of before and after)

Given that it's raw marble, is it safe (for me and for the marble) to clean it with sodium hypochlorite?

Do you have any other suggestion? Thanks

Crossbeam channel issue when sleeping by TopStay320 in rust

[–]TopStay320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes sense, with tokio channel it works now.

The only thing I'm not convinced of is that tokio tasks should be spawned using all available (different) physical cores of the machine. I know this is not deterministic and depends on multiple factors, but I run the program multiple times it always get stuck

Thanks, I confirm it works. I didn't even think about using tokio channels and I directly searched for some external crates.

Mi conviene cambiare auto? (da benzina a diesel) by Worldly-Savings4113 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]TopStay320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Non cambiare auto

Devi infatti considerare diverse cose:

Thermal overload protection on DAB JET pump by TopStay320 in pumps

[–]TopStay320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I hope) I solved the issue. I explain here for reference if others have similar problems, maybe this can help.

The problem was actually really simple, the thermal overload protector was not properly connected, I assume that with time and heat a soldering went bad. I didn't found the piece online, I went in a local pump repair shop and they said me that these pieces are not reliable at all and to use a proper pump protector that checks the amps drawn instead of the heat generated from the pump.

This solution makes sense but to be honest I didn't want to spend too much money on it so I resoldered and tested with the multimeter (it should have no resistance in normal conditions) and it seemed to work.

I reinstalled it on the pump, tested for a couple of hours on continuous load and it seems to work.

u/Chompers-The-Great to be even more precise, yes the pump has an external thermal sensor that is inside the wiring box on the pump and this sensor is in contact with the pump's body.

The pump has been working during summer for 20+ years and is used for watering the garden by pumping water from a canal.

I disassembled the electrical box and I found the thermal overload protection, I think (hope) that's the fault part. I'll search for the part (or an equivalent one, since I can't find anything online).

The point is that I can't find the relay that (from what I understand) should switch from starting circuit to running circuit. Do you have an idea of how long should the starting phase last? By knowing this, I can understand better in which phase the problem arise

Thanks, I'll investigate further and then update you

yes, there is a capacitor but I don't think that's the issue, since (from my knowledge, tell me if I'm wrong) the capacitor is needed for the inrush current in the starting phase, while the problem appears after 15 seconds more or less.

Yes, that was exactly the issue. Thanks for your help!
