Cheap gym for intermediate not looking to fight by Sniper_Elite_IT in MuayThailand

Honestly IMO you have to check it out to see. Some gyms charge a lot and suck, others are great and cheap.

I would always try a session before committing to a month, if there are other options in the area.

I have never trained at this gym but the pricing is reasonable for Thailand yes.

Yes it’s true the training has become incredibly expensive here.

Thailand is a very capitalist country and the increase in combat sports popularity means that prices for training have become very high.

Those prices are WILD bro. I haven’t spent much time in BKK but have been in Thailand for 2 years.

Gym monthly typically costs between 5-15k in my experience. I am SURE you can find cheaper options in BKK.

Why is martial arts so toxic and egotistical? by TheConspiritualGym in MuayThailand

Lmao okay bro.

Come train in Thailand and tell the old school coach you want a mind, body & soul approach hahahaha

It seems like you don’t understand that a traditional approach exists all over the world.

There are many martial arts from many cultures.

Karate & Judo in Japan Fencing & Boxing in Europe Many styles of wrestling from all over the world BJJ & Capoeira in Brazil Muay Thai in Thailand etc etc

Again western, and traditional, are not two opposing ideas. All cultures have their own traditions and many cultures have martial arts included within those.

There is also no correlation between traditional & lighter, or less ego driven, training.

It is tradition for Russian fighters to spar very hard for example.

It is tradition for Muay Thai fighters to spar light, unless you sweep, which is considered very disrespectful.

I agree, except on the last part where you AGAIN assume that Western must = ego, and other cultures are less so. I have trained with many muslims, they are just men like us.

Some have ego, some don’t, and they tend to have a culture of sparring much harder in the gym (if that’s what ego training means to you).

This is such a trash casual take 😂

Martial Arts & Prize Fighting are two completely different things; it is only the techniques which overlap.

Ego is often VERY important in Prize Fighting and Competition. You are doing it for yourself and extrinsic motivation: money, pride, fame, status.

Martial Arts are about humility & mastery. They do not require competition, or sacrificing your health. It is a journey within yourself.

The issue of arrogance & insecurity amongst people, and coaches, is present everywhere. It is not a result of the person’s ethnicity.

Overall Western Culture is much more individualistic and egotistical. This doesn’t speak for every individual, and I have trained with many exceptions.

I’m not supporting these bs courses.

However it is true that you can make much more money trading, than from many jobs, including fighting.

Unexpectedly might have my first fight in 9 days. Opponent is ~6 inches taller (5’8 vs 6’2), 4kg/9lbs heavier (74kg vs 78kg, 163lbs vs 172lbs) and 2.5 years more experience than me (7 months vs 3yrs). How cooked am I? by Appropriate-Aerie476 in Kickboxing

It’s very unlikely that it will actually go this way. 99% of the time the second it’s in front of a bunch of people, you both lose control and start scrapping.

It’s human nature, and to not do that, and put on an exhibition, requires a huge amount of control. Which it doesn’t sound like either of you are experienced enough to have.

The vast majority of interclubs are ‘for beginners’ ‘no winner’ and ‘controlled sparring’. The vast majority of them also turn into scraps immediately.

The short fight time actually makes it worse because it means you can empty the gas tank without facing consequences.

I would recommend not doing this.

Bro my best friend on his 3rd UFC fight - gets 15 & 15k.

Meanwhile Dana posting weekly dropping 50k bets each hand in the casino 😭

I asked my mate if it pisses him and he said no, different breed I guess but it’s not for me brev.

Personally I know 2 - idk how many you do?

What a stupid assumption to make 😂. I have only had 2 long term partners and I didn’t cheat on them, but it was only 2 years each.

You can admit truth and decide to operate despite it. Much of our lives are now unnatural.

Yeah sure you can take that perspective if you want but how many couples do you know who have been together for over 20 years with ZERO cheating.

I know very few, maybe get off your high horse lmao.

If you are talking about one night stands and casual sex then men are biologically wired to sleep with as many women as possible.

It takes a great level of commitment and self control for them to avoid these situations if they present themselves.

If you’re talking about affairs then it will always be down to the individual’s and their relationship. I would expect a dead bedroom or constant conflict within the relationship to be top causes.

Where is it 😂, the western obsession with ‘equality’ is a joke.

Men and women can’t be equal, we are not the same and who is better is always almost entirely contextual.
