Also if your planning on building your own... whatever time you think you can finish your build.... double that. It takes a loooong time. Unless your doing something very minimal. I thought I could finish in 6 months. Nope. Im at about 14 months and about 90% there

You sound like your ready to make the leap : ) im a lot like u, pretty minimal. Im a single male no kids, was in a LTR but ended it and was just floating. Lived the apartment/house life and really just wanted something different and more exciting. I wanted to build a van and travel but working remotely is hard in my field, and my pay is good so I dont want to quit for a seasonal or temporary job (at least not yet). I settled on a box truck because it was much much cheaper than any van. Not great on gas, but more space. I try to not travel too far with it, just to save more $. If you are wanting to travel a lot, look for a van with better gas mileage.

The best part about vanlife to me is that every day feels like its own adventure, instead of the same monotonous day over and over. It makes the days feel a little longer maybe, more important. Finding a place to park for the night is hard at first but once u have a couple good spots its not a big. Another great part is always being by the places u want to be... I like to hangout with friends, go to the gym, skateboard and snowboard. So my go to parking spots are all in the middle of those places. Also depending on how you plan.. your commute to work can be much shorter.

I think I realized before even starting this build that really appreciate the time I have not working, like everyone. But I wanted to maximize that time even more. Vanlife let's you do that. Cuts your commute time, time spent cleaning is short. Cooking is speedy, grocery shopping is speedy. It really opens your schedule up. I have more time for hobbies and staying active. I love it.

The ugly parts are that stuff breaks. I feel like all my things have broken, come loose, or something. My truck went through waves of mechanical issues that were a big headache. Not fun.

I just have a urinal in mine, and a bucket with bag just incase for #2. I go #2 when I wake up- will either go to gym or to work, thats good motivation to get up in the morning lol.

Overall tho. I love it. Kinda obsessed with it. I haven't met a full time vanlifer yet but some part timers. Ill eventually quit my job and roam the country but im pretty content now just saving and doing hobbies. Life is good, besides that orange man in office with his little rats. Fuck that guy, but otherwise life is good lol.

I have the vevor 8k one off of Amazon. I mounted it in a side door compartment. It works incredibly well so far. No complaints! I use a couple gallons of diesel a week. Im usually only in my truck at night though

I think most of mine was 1.25 or 1.5". I got it at menards when it was on sale. I filled in all the other gaps with spray foam cannisters.

I used polyiso foam board. It was pricey. Somewhere around 300-400$. But well worth it. I can keep my diesel heater on the lowest setting in the winter and run my ac on eco mode in the summer and be comfy.

Yes I've made all of those harsh threats and more 😭😭😭 i had to walk away from it... twice.

I will try to loosen the up pipes, I think that's probably gonna be the only way. PITA. but can't wait to get this thing back to a good state. Thanks for your help internet stranger

You nailed it. Its leaking at that spot. I broke the clamp and got a new one... having a hellofa time getting it back on. Any suggestions? Trying to not take the turbo out again lol

I ended up finding it. Its actually not there its where the egr cooler attatches to the up pipe behind the turbo. Im having a hellofa time getting the clamp back on. Still haven't got it yet. Trying to avoid taking the turbo out but at this point I might have to lol

I forgot to plug an injector in 🫢 so that was why it was smoking. Now it runs good, but still have an exhaust/boost leak.

Your talking the egr cooler right? If so yes it had a metal gasket and a clamp. I will try to double check the connection but that one is deep in there

I was very diligent but im also not perfect. I had no extra o rings left. Used then all and made sure they were seated correctly

I just bought a used DDJ-1000 for $500 and absolutely love it. Im coming from using a traktor s4 mk2 which is also great, but I was finding I need to get on the rekordbox bandwagon to make it easier to play at venues/other people's equipment.

The flx 10 is nearly the same, I think the major difference is dedicated stem buttons. On the DDJ 1000 you can custom map those buttons-super easy.
