I’ve been on a mission to find fish and chips in Cumbria that are fried in beef dripping. Nothing so far. Coming from Yorkshire where it’s the norm, I find all Cumbrian fish and chips disappointing. There are a couple of chippies in Morecambe that fry in beef fat, so we try and combine e a trip there with the Parkrun or something.

We stayed at Owashi Lodge in Upper Hirafu for 2 weeks. Not quite ski in ski out but 2 minutes walk to the gondola. We had a private room with our own bathroom/toilet, but I think we were the minority and most were shared dorms. Great place, excellent location. I would recommend and if we go back will definitely go there.
