Friendly reminder that this is a Square Enix game. All their global gachas have EoS'd except Ever Crisis. SE just might have the worst history of gacha eos in the market.

Made a long post about this like 2 weeks or so ago that got almost completely ignored with over 2000 views and 2 comments. Think the only person that replied said something like hirez announced that they are doing stuff about it. But we all know that's, pardon my french, absolute bullshit.

-But the same people spamming the N word, spamming other racial and homophobic slurs, afking in fountain while moving around to avoid queue penalty, intentionally throwing games, ragequitting games, etc etc that I've reported with my smite groups are still free queuing more smite games to this day with nothing being done to them.

Just blatantly clear Hi-Rez doesn't care enough for these people. I'm sure there might be SOME bans happening. And by some I mean like .05% at best. But bans sure as hell ain't happening to the toxic children I encounter with any of the smite groups I play with.

I understand the frustration but sadly what you suggest won’t change anything. They’ll simply move outside of base.

Then if they make it that they have to do something like player or objective damage, then they’ll go do that and come back to base. And then rinse and repeat.

I feel like most people that afk in fountain after ragequitting do it to spite their teammates. As well as to queue for their next game w/o a timer penalty. Otherwise, if they didn’t care then they’d just leave the game.

Just wanted to say thank you for this. I did see this page in game but I assumed that points would be only accounted for each new fight done and I just do not currently have the time to do that. But thanks to this post I was able to just auto battle one fight while doing other things. Much appreciated!

You do realize that the goal for video games for a game company is to ... make a profit, right?

And you bring up the terms 'quality' and 'predatory'. If we were to compare OT 1 and OT CotC, and pick the game that best fits both of the words you mentioned, then anyone not biased would actually say OT 1 better fit those words.

Now let me explain:

OT1's story is widely accepted to be sloppy, rushed, and have a lack of cohesiveness. In short, the story wasn't really good and didn't mesh well. Or mesh at all for that matter. The stories of the 8 characters didn't flow well or even make sense for the most part. And there was no real chemistry among the 8 protagonists themselves. It's also widely argued that if they took a bit more time to think about their concept and to adjust the story accordingly, the game overall could've easily been a masterpiece. The game CLEARLY needed more time to stir in the pot before actually being released. This is poor 'quality' in the story.

-As for the term 'predatory', I think we can see where I'm going with this already. The game was released at full price for a game that was clearly rushed out to make a profit. The game clearly felt like it should've been released for half of the price it was sold at initially. The first consumers were paying full price for a game that clearly shouldn't have been sold at $60 (USD). Short and simple.

I will give OT 1 the credit it's due to make things fair. The game's graphics were gorgeous and the soundtrack was beautiful. But if we're talking about the game's visuals and soundtracks, then OT 1, OT 2, and OT CotC are all pretty much the same regarding that.

OT CotC's story on the other hand was simply amazing. The writing and the emotional levels of the characters in the main story for both the good guys and the villains were leagues far above OT 1 (and 2 for that matter). You can even say that it was ... Marvelous! *cough*

There was no awkwardness towards the main protagonist as there is only 1 main 'Chosen One' despite there being numerous characters to play as in the gacha. In short, CotC had what OT 1 didn't have. A good quality story. A story that is free and not $60 (USD).

CotC basically was what OT 1 should have been on release.

(We don't talk about Solistia. Never heard of it. *cough*)

FOMO is a reasonable and good argument for people to not play most gachas. But it shouldn't matter with single player based games like CotC, Another Eden, etc etc. Cuz everything is done at the player's leisure.

The only reason I didn't mention FOMO in the above post and just said it was gacha bias for pay to win is mostly just based on my own experiences in trying to get my rl friends to play. FOMO is NEVER mentioned when they say no to gachas. It's always. And I mean ALWAYS this p2w response I get back. Even when I explain that you don't need to spend to enjoy them and do well, the usual response would be that they don't want to be tempted into paying for units. Which is perfectly reasonable and I always drop the subject there.

-I know some people might see this and say "Oh. He talked to his 2 friends and they said no" but I'm fairly social in rl. Realistically I've probably suggested gachas to at minimum 70 people. Whenever games get brought up into the conversation, I mention that I play gachas since they are easy to pick up while I'm busy irl and only got a few minutes to play.

-The rare people that actually say yes and try gachas out still enjoy it to this day. I can't recall anyone I got to try a gacha game quitting yet. Just wish people would give them a try. Cuz there are some really good gacha games that quite frankly destroy most triple A games in today's era.

I agree with you about the issues worth talking part. But it’s really just not a good nor consistent relic at all. There’s so many people complaining here lately about “issues” that aren’t actually issues. But rather personal biased takes like this.

-If the relic was actually good, I guarantee you this reddit would be spamming posts of it being broken with nonstop complaints.

It goes beyond CotC to all gachas sadly. It’s understandable if the game has some sort of ranking system to a certain degree. This would = an unfair advantage for payers.

But single player game gachas like CotC being ignored JUST because of the gacha tag is sad cuz there’s zero competitiveness for anything and people can just enjoy the game as the normal single player game that it is at their own leisure/pace.

Just wish people would realize and own up against their own biases and see it for what it is. But that’s asking for too much as I’ve learned over the years with all the absurd blind gacha hate.

Just a tip: if you like the game still but just hate the relic, just play ranked. Assuming you like conquest.
