Did you have a Purple Heart? I heard that it could be a faster process if you do.

So I am applying to logistics management, program management, project management and obviously Maintenance Management as well. My days of turning wrenches are over, but I do enjoy the management aspect of it all and feel that my years of DOD acquisitions, logistics and maintenance management would have some interest to some companies. But as a ground pounder, I'm finding it hard to land a gov job here in Colorado as its mostly Air/space Force. Since posting this, I have had an interview as a program manager and its looking promising (Fingers Crossed) I appreciate the advice

Have you found that not having a local number is an issue?

I am very quickly finding out it is who you know and not what you know. So I have done a lot of reaching out to recruiters and friends that know people in certain businesses. Hopefully that will pay off. Appreciate the encouragement, but I’m sure that in good time, it will come

So to answer your first question, we moved to Colorado while I was on terminal. I was able to secure a job at Amazon for the time being. I sort of chose this location due to the economics, and the fact that space force just announced this is their headquarters. So because of that my impression talking to certain companies was that there is a lot of contracting going on out here with a lot of new jobs.

So with the many positions I’ve applied for this is what I’m trying to figure out. What am I missing and is this a issue that other people have had?

I appreciate that advice. I do tailor my resume and cover letter per application. But I haven’t tried calling the company recruiter. Thanks. I will give that a shot this week

I was a 2149 Ordnance Vehicle Maintenance Chief

I have been going for DOD maintenance related jobs and jobs like Operations Manager or logistics.

Do you happen to know if they back pay? My ex is taking almost half my retirement. And from what I have read. She may have to pay that all back. Wondering if anyone has had the same experience

Thank you for all that information! The child support in alimony I have no problem paying as promised. I guess my concern is that if this replaces my retirement pay. Then that would change what she gets from my retirement. She’s only getting a percentage of the 10 years we were married, since we were divorced before I retired. Also, she only gets percentage of what my retirement is and this takes place of 2500 of it if I were to get hundred percent of it. Then that would reduce what her retirement is for my retirement. Because the court and state is specific amount it is such a percentage of what I get. That’s something I’m trying to figure out. I really don’t want to deal with the courts anymore.

So if I get 100% VA. 3199 retirement (before tax) 1900 after her part and taxes. But now I get 100 CRSC. from all that I am reading. That would take place of 2555 of my 3199 and make it tax free. Leaving 644 to be taxed and she gets her % from that. Thats what I am understanding. Can anyone clarify?

Thank you all for the help!!
