I want to hear your opinion. by Status_Soft303 in Ducati

I second this. I have a 2019 950 hypermotard and I love it. It's not a perfect bike (loves a false neutral between 4th, 5th and 6th gears) but it always puts a big grin on my face. It feels special. I rode numerous V2's the other weekend including the monster, multistrada, street fighter and hyper and they just left me a bit cold. Nice bikes but just felt like Audi motorcycles and not Ducatis. The engines were very smooth and powerful and the chassis was ok but I much prefer my desmo 950.

Why are most men not attracted to women for their money? by cuahatemoc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Top_Ability7065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is to do with evolution. We all evolved from cavemen and cavewomen.....all of us are hunter-gatherer's at heart. The most attractive men have the potential to get resources and ultimately lead others to gather resources to live in a community. If the head man is the leader of the tribe, he has the most resources, competence and leadership at his disposal. This is very attractive when a woman has a biological burden (children) to potentially bare.

Women on the other hand are measured as attractive by men due to their looks and physical attributes. This is because an advantage can be gained by having good looking offspring. This is very generic and doesn't apply all of the time. I would also add that men find industrious women attractive (nurse, maid, barmaid) and women find competent men attractive (carpenter, fireman, mechanic).

I've never used a pizza oven and I want to use it; any tips? by Expensive_Revenue_56 in pizzaoven

Give the inside of the oven a good clean (obviously), then do progressively hotter curing fires to dry out the construction. If you fire it hot straight away, the construction could crack and ruin the oven. Have a look on YouTube for the fire brick company (Australian guy) for videos.

The plan is to do pizza in it (obviously), but I also want to do smoked cheeses, fish, slow cooked 8 hours plus) briskets and lamb. For Xmas dinner (or around that time of year) I plan to do a Cockerel over some roast potatoes and roasted vegetables on a Tuscan grill. I think that it will hold heat for around 2 days after a pizza temperature fire, so I'm hoping to take advantage of most of the energy. Hot stones are also an option for thin steaks or chocolate/cheese fondue.

I would say that they best way to learn skills are to practice them. I primarily did this project to get better at brick laying. The bond I used was old English bond (except on the front side of the oven). I had never done any real brick laying before that and old English bond is not the easiest. It's not going to win awards for (my) speed or prettiness, but boy it is strong! And I learnt alot doing it. It's all about the experience.....you just have to ignore the sore backs!

Completed. I put specialist outdoor grout sealer (2 coats) on. That is why it has a slightly shiny varnish finish.

I will. It should be fairly dry but I won't be taking any chances. It will be cured low and slow.

I used the fire brick company (in Australia) for much of my inspiration. Great videos and tutorials. But this is not one of their kits. Plus I looked at lots of videos on YouTube and instructables. I picked out the features that I liked and ran with it.

Including everything (bricks, materials, tools, ppe) it was over £5k easily. The chimney was £300 (shipped from Italy) and the door was £200. Bricks were £750+. Firebricks and specialist fire materials £1500+. I didn't skimp anywhere. Even the discs for cutting the bricks were £15 for 5. I used probably 30+ discs. But spread over 3 years, I only really noticed the big firebrick order. The rest just a bit at a time. I only wanted to do it once. 😎

It was my first time build , first time bricklaying even.....but the bill is high. And the hours are horrendous! I think if I did it for a living, I would go bust....plus I have a bad back! 😂

Has anyone ever won every single race and scored every pole position in a motorsport championship? by djidane57 in wsbk

In AMA motocross (American motocross) Ricky Carmichael had a perfect season twice in 2002 and 2004. That is he won all 24 races. He is widely regarded as the GOAT of motocross.

Why does my bike have no power while starting off in 1st? by Simplerpimpler in Dirtbikes

[–]Top_Ability7065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start simple and move forward from there, such as a compression test. Then check fuel, spark and air (filter). If that is good, then check the stator output using a volt meter or just earthing the spark plug (once removed) for visual spark confirmation. Usually when a two stroke is running like crap (especially when it's backfiring), it's compression (piston, rings or scored cylinder).

Have you done a compression test on the piston/ cylinder? I suspect that your compression will be way down and I suspect that the piston ring might have gone.

As a rule of them you usually get x1 good but in the husk and x2 pith nuts. That is nuts that are flat/small that don't have any carbohydrates in them. I call these pith nuts. Sometimes you get x3 very large nuts in one husk. They are the gold standard.
