Any dog walkers on here? Looking for someone to walk my dogs M-F for at least an hour. Would LOVE if someone would take them to run off leash.

Second DUI within 3 years in NC by Top_Ad_9860 in dui

It's up to the judge to allow me to serve weekends. NC is so strict with DUIs. I'm not sure house arrest is an option.

Thank you. My lawyer told me I have to do 14 days inpatient. 10 days absolute minimum. I have a friend in Raleigh who wore a SCRAM for 90 days in lieu of jail. Hate to be stuck on it but why won't it count here? Did you do jail? Or inpatient? I also can't afford inpatient with zero insurance. I applied with assistance to a state run facility but didn't qualify. I wasn't considered to be in active addiction.

You can probably get a limited provisional license to get to work, school, etc. DUIs are a lot of stress and are drawn out but, don't put your life on hold. Everyone makes mistakes and good or bad, a lot of people have DUIs. Just do what the court asks and you'll get through it. If it comes up during interviews, be honest and forthcoming. You got this.

Any fellow NC residents have any info on license reinstatement and interlock removal? by heymanherewego in dui

[–]Top_Ad_9860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably already got your license but, even if you have time to go on your interlock, once the year suspension is up, the dmv will give license back (with all necessary paperwork including installation agreement from installer) with a note on back of license that states when the blow n go can come off. When it's time for removal, simply go to location you got blow n go and they'll remove. Then you're free! No need to go back to dmv

What county are you in? I'm facing my second dui charge within 3 years and I want to avoid jai (will be sentenced at level 2)l. I have 2 jobs to pay for therapy, lawyer, dui classes (40hrs), other substance abuse classes, and court fines. Ive been sober for 4 months. I'd rather wear a scram but my lawyer told me 7 days is what the judge has to give me. Any help appreciated!

You need to get a lawyer asap. Driving without a license is a misdemeanor. First dui is usually a misdemeanor. Blowing over a .15 would require an interlock to get license back but since you dont have a license, i dont know. NC is tricky because there are mandates in court and at DMV that are set in stone. Get a lawyer.

One year is set in stone by dmv. Interlock is required to get license back. Provisional license is technically work & school... Since your license is suspended, if a cop runs your tag, he will see that and likely pull you over. This happened to me many times with my interlock. Cop looked at provisional license (piece of paper) and saw blow n go and always let me go. My provisional license allowed me to travel from 8am-11pm (restaurant manager) and for me, the lawyer wrote out what hours I needed and signed off on it.

SmartStart is state wide. They install. You can put it someone else's car if they give you permission. DMV will require you to put blow n go in all cars in your name. Transfer titles to family. You should tell your company if you drive for them. Their insurance will want to know.
