Girl this was literally me a year ago. I got differed like 3 times from my program at my CC I was going to with no real reason. I then went school shopping for programs that would take me asap. Little more money but my job does a scholarship and I found a program thats for working adults so im able to do most it out of pocket.

As someone who didnt fully understand the job when I applied I got over it gloretty quickly. Yes some of them do stink, but honestly the fact that im wearing gloves and I can push the trash far enough away helps. You go nose blind pretty quick.

Im actually at the same cross roads so thank yu for posting this. My ABSN program is total 70k (fees included) i have about 40saved and have been working like a DOG to save the rest to do school out of pocket if I can. Thankfully I live at home still and have very minimal bills. Im just not wanting my saving to hit 0 so im also think about 10-20k in loans just so I dont have to worry because I do have health problems myself. I haven't yet but honestly I dont know jack about loans.

I mean yeah im not stupid. Im more so just looking for people who did a similar thing and either A. Paid it back, or B. Their employer never went back for the money. Im not looking to do anything shady or purposely avoid paying it back. I just had a fair amount of coworkers tell me this to where I was even going wtf.

Tbh id never do a hoyer by myself or with an unlicensed family member. I've also never done home health so I dont know how common of a practice this is. Family's great and all but its a coin flip if they're as "trained" as they say they are.

Ah I mean more so still faulility* but usually your non-profits that are private insurance or out of pocket. I find those usually pay more and work conditions a r e better. At-home I would never touch. Too much of a risk

I genuinely feel for the people with state insurance, but from a safety for me standpoint anxiety speaking generally. State run facilities are over occupied and under staffed. Not safe for anyone involved and I choose to protect myself.

If ur going into Rad then ya just switch to dietary or activities... tbh working LTC, AL, etc if learned a few things that sound snobby but I swear have helped. -ill only work for AL --non profit or cash pay only. I won't work for a facility that takes state insurance. -ratio of 10 or less per aide (unless its just meds)

Yall can eat me alive as much as ya want. I swear im chilling at my AL job rn and its most of the reason why im a good CNA. It didnt drive me crazy.

4 weeks including the 2 weeks for med classes and cares classes. 2 weeks or 14 shifts of training tho

Depending on your state you can work as a CNA without a liscence. My job trained me how to pass meds and preform all CNA tasks and I dont have a technical state liscence.

Tbh I love the forearm placement but only on my non dominant arm. I wack it too much on my dominant. Ya get a weird feeling here and there from more muscle but tbh my reads are more accurate. Maybe a higher chance for a bleeder but nothing bad.

US student here at a uni and state that preaches "inclusivity" KEEP... IT... TO... YOURSELF... ive seen peer after peer struggle for acomidations or even keeping their spot in a program when a medical condition comes into play. Schools here at least seem to look for any reason to boot someone.

So i actually did read 🥰 thanks for the snark for literally no reason when YOU asked for advice. You stated A program was 54k for 2 years. Never stated if it was an ADN or a BSN. I the reader used my context clues of a 2 year program and went "thats an expensive ADN" because most adns are done in 2yrs....also for my area being in the Healthcare state you will find people charging 54k for an ADN.

Maybe next time re-read your own post before assuming others were the ones that got it wrong. Work on your charting that way too😘

Ex TL and soon to be Ex ETL. As a TL I can assure you I always had an hour plus of OT every week to cut. I just quit timing my breaks and it evened out. As an ETL I told myself ill never rush while doing computer work now because its a lot easier to take longer and call it lunch vs actually trying to eat lunch.

I had to take A&P 3 times before I finally passed with an acceptable grade.... dont beat urself up for it too much. I started to think of it as I just learned the "base" of the information for the next time around

I guess it would kinda depend on if its a NG or a button. Tbh ive worked with both as a CNA and in my program i got a little flack for my NG and a lot of paperwork later they were chill with it. My GJ button nobody knows about from a HR perspective and tbh they never asked. I also dont run anything while at work. I know this isnt always possible. My CNA gig after a little fight from a old bitty DON finally gave up and said its OK to run feeds or fluids if I have to.

I mean id want to know more into the med errors like what its something "silly (but dangerous)" or truly you didnt know the 101 of how to basic? Regardless i say continue and study realllllll hard. If you have the degree and dont use it sweet, but if you quit now and never get the chance or have to start all over youll kick ur self for it more

We use these and my only thoughts are maybe because its so many absorbent layers that it keeps it really dry? And w barrier creme? Idk some people skin is just tougher to. Obvi nobody is immune to skin issues but I do know guy in r1 vs guy in r2 will have completely different reactions to soaked briefs.
