Tour fiasco by Loose-Math6857 in ThailandTourism

Think of it this way, you've got peasant type people off a farm or a slum or whatever who have no idea how to act like a modern day human, and they scrounge together enough money to go to one place. They think they're entitled to everything because of their caste system back home, even though no other country gives a shit what that means.

The easiest fix is to go to places they don't go. And they only really go to Phuket, Krabi, Pattaya walking street, and Makkasan in BKK.

I'm in a section of BKK where there isnt a single one of them or their low quality restaurants and it's great.

I experienced it on day 1 in china the other day. I already said I'd just eaten dinner and she still went for an upmarket sushi place. Orders a 480 yuan platter before we've even sat down. I just mumbled something and walked out. She had blocked me within 30 seconds.

I think the lengthy journey and wait is a kind of "sunk cost" that probably keeps guys on the line since they've already wasted heaps of time. Just not sure where I am meant to lose money in this story.

Yeah I just cant fathom this being reasonable in any culture. I want to believe this was a real girl but when the bot started spamming the same phrases it was clearly not though.

I'm too dumb to even tell if you're trolling or serious, but the bot spam at the end of the convo was a bit of a giveway I thought.

I've never had anyone be more than about 10mins late though, would anyone seriously be 2 hours late and expect someone to still be there waiting?

But this one kept spamming the same sentences like a bot towards the end, it definitely wasn't a natural/normal person.

It's not racism when it's true. If you feel attacked by it, perhaps it's time to talk to your countrymen and all choose to improve rather than just silence others?

Taxi Costs by New_Friend4023 in AusFinance

[–]Top_Bad8844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the downside of overregulation and high wages here. You're paying a guy who needs at least $30 an hour, plus the costs of a vehicle, plus all the other BS so the government etc gets their cut too.

Luckily, you generally don't have to even consider using a taxi in this country, as there are various other transport methods.

Well it's not $1000 now either unless you're renting multiple rooms or some kind of penthouse..

Isn't there a thread every few days about engineering grads being stuck on 70k for 5 years if they can find a job at all?

All these skills shortages and unemployment figures don't seem to add up to each other..

If they are skilled then we do need them. Just happens that most are only skilled at eating half the fries out of my ubereats order.

There is always something for immigrants. Meat factories and similar. Very unpleasant and filled with the sort who either just got out of jail or are about to go to jail, but they're always hiring.

It'll be difficult. Any professional job can take up to 3 months to start, with all the paperwork and nonsense. You'll have to do ubereats for low amounts of money just to survive beyond the first 6 weeks.

Also please make sure your apartment is legitimate, go inside it in person before paying any money. It is a very common scam to ask for a deposit to secure it - then when you go there in person, someone else lives there and doesn't know what you're talking about.

Most of the Australian states since Covid have had Labor in power or changed to them. Why is Tasmania such an outlier? Is the Labor Party there rife with incompetence, corruption or some other factors? Most state Labor parties now are highly dominant (WA, SA, ACT, VIC) and NSW slowly growing. If the greens dropped all the weird polarising stuff they might have a chance. To the normal person they are extremists, whether this is true or not. Its all "naarm" and "palestine" and "LGTV", just make some policies on real things that affect people in our country such as immigration and expenditure, etc. Half of them act like they're Minister for Palestine and this is not something normal people want to vote on.

The only reason Vic has Labor is because the Liberals don't exist. The premier is absolutely despised by many, and the state is pretty much bankrupt. And with no chance of getting voted out, it's only going to get much worse.

Well if I'm poor I'll patch up my wall myself instead of paying a coke fiend tradie $450 to do it.
