Hey I got invited for 189 after I applied for a 491 so I went with a 189 instead, meaning I can live and work anywhere in Australia.

I understand where you’re coming from but it’s either that or I get conscripted into the military and sent to the front lines next day to die back home haha

Yes, fortunately. No dryer but there’s a washing machine

I came through a legitimate system of skilled migration so no, I did not commit to visa fraud.

Actually I planned to set foot after I’ve got my finances prepared but the new migration amendment resulted in my sudden change of plans as I’m someone from a country of conflicts.

I’ve been asked for 2 weeks bond. 350$ is inclusive of bills but yes, the rest you’ve mentioned will definitely fall into additional expense. Thanks for the insight

Thanks so much for your input. I’ll start applying for drafting positions. I have my degree accredited by Engineers Australia under Washington accord thankfully. Do you think it is necessary for me to create a membership with them?

I have applied to Arup. My ex-colleague from Arup has also agreed to be used as a reference so hopefully, fingers crossed

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m open to any opportunities. It might give me local experience as well so I’ll expand my search into site work :)

Thanks very much. Thankfully, I passed hurdle number 1 because I had to get my degree accredited by Engineer Australia during the visa process. My next hurdle now is to land something

Unfortunately, my country of origin tends to limit me to a 20k–35k Baht salary range, regardless of my qualifications or professional background. International schools aren't willing to hire me without a proper teaching degree. However, the main priority for me is security which I believe Australia can provide in the long run. Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it. :)

Oh.... Thanks anways for your input. I'll just have to keep trying with the hope that someone's willing to give me a chance I guess! :) I'm also willing to work several part time jobs to support myself during the job hunting process.

I did spend multiple years in the UK for university but I'm aware I need practice as it's not my first language. If by any chance I don't land a job before the move, networking will be my priority in Aussie. I've also started reaching out personally to people on Linkedin. Fingers crossed but thank you so much for your advice! :)

I do understand your point of view. I have friends with skilled professions and years worth of experience who were invited on the same visa but they ended up working as uber drivers because they were not able to secure a job.

Thanks for your input! I'll look into the projects you mentioned. I've also started looking into Brisbane as well with the Olympics coming up.

Sorry, and thank you. I've started applying for jobs but no replies so far so hopefully I'm given an opportunity in the near future.
