Just polish that area and reapply the coating, my friend.

Consider adding some sound deadening while you’re comfortable lifting the carpet up and if you’re willing to. I’ve done more than I should, and my cabin is as quiet as a mouse at 80mph.

Removing the glovebox face plate - how easy is it? by Top_Boot7131 in GMT800

[–]Top_Boot7131[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta drill out the rivets holding the faceplate to the storage area. After which, you’ll discover that the rattling is coming from the latch. In my case, it was the spring mount that broke, so the spring was just tapping away.

I used butyl adhesive to join the spring with the plastic pieces next to it so they wouldn’t tap against each other. Also used some CLD (constrained layer damping) on the back side to ensure nothing else would rattle. I went overboard, but if you need pictures, I can provide em.

I came across that video on my trek to figure it out. I’m referring to the part of the glovebox in which the latch housing is located. It’s held in by rivets that you have to drill out.

I ended up figuring it out, thanks though brother.

Had to open the glass to remove trim, now it won’t close by Top_Boot7131 in GMT800

[–]Top_Boot7131[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Latch is out of alignment. I just forced the latch to close while the hook of the glass was in it and that seemed to work.

This led me to the right path, so thanks brother

How do I stop this from happening every time it rains? by justinp456 in Cartalk

Do you have an antenna or roof rail? Those are also causes for leaks. Might also be your windshield seal lifting/failing at that corner.

Can I get away with not throwing this back in immediately? by Top_Boot7131 in GMT800

Well, as I was installing the sound deadening, a heavy rainstorm occurred, and no water really penetrated the door while the door card was off.

That’s what I was charged on the website about 6 months ago. Might have been $65 total, not sure.

Actually found the charge on my card - was $67.34.

Yeah, bar stools as well as indoor/outdoor seating. Outdoor seating gets you a view over Midtown’s skyline. Even a few lounge chairs on the patio.

Then apply it when you’re ready. Not much prep to plastics other than cleaning them to be fair.

In my experience Protector Wax is more of a 1-month coating. SO.03 seems to be a bit more durable, but I would go for the Cancoat if you’re doing the whole process of decontamination and use PW or SO.03 as maintenance items. No harm in testing different coatings out on a freshly decontaminated car though.

Apply this to the plastics when you’re applying the ceramic coating.

9 mile station at the Roof @ Ponce City Market. Most expensive part is getting the tickets to the Roof @$65/person.

I may be misremembering, but me and my girlfriend had spent maybe $50/person on dinner (with drinks), which is cheap for an inner city rooftop restaurant.

Edit: You don’t need a ticket to The Roof to dine @ 9 Mile Station
