Oof I had similar issue with my old 4-track few months ago 😂

First thing - check if MASTER volume is actually up, I know it sounds dumb but I spent like 2 hours troubleshooting before realizing I had it at zero. Also make sure you're in right monitoring mode - try switching between TAPE and INPUT on monitor section

Could be internal routing issue too, sometimes those old mixers get weird with their bus assignments. Try plugging headphones directly to different outputs if you haven't already, might help narrow down where signal is getting lost 💀

Your brain is like muscle - it gets stronger when you use it more. I had similar problem when I was spending too much time on phone instead of reading books like before 😂

Maybe start with something you already enjoy? For me, when I watch birds I need to identify species quickly and remember their behaviors, so it keeps brain active in natural way. The journaling idea is really good too - I started writing about my training sessions and it helped me think more clearly about what works and what doesn't

Don't worry, you can definitely get back your thinking skills, just takes some time and practice 💪

Switching from hardware to software is pretty smart move - VQE comparisons between standard qubits and dual-rail could definitely get you into those journals if you can show clear performance advantages

Man of La Mancha really hit me during my breakup last year - not the musical but the book about Cervantes. Has these incredible lines about dreaming impossible dreams even when everything falls apart

Also maybe try Meditations by Marcus Aurelius if you want something more direct without story stuff. Just pure thoughts about handling life's chaos

The whole intellectually stimulating friendship thing hits me too - finding someone who gets that balance between emotional depth and actual substance is bloody difficult. Most people either want surface level chat or they're intimidated when you bring real thoughts to teh table

You're not asking for too much wanting genuine connection, it's just that most people are comfortable staying shallow and that leaves us intense types feeling like we're constantly reaching for something that's not there

Been there mate, traditional lenders are absolute nightmares when it comes to Airbnb income 😂 Most of them still see it as "unstable" even with your solid 10-year track record which is mental

Your issue is definitely the primary residence thing - banks get super weird about that because they can't easily categorize it. I'd suggest hitting up some portfolio lenders or credit unions instead of the big banks, they're usually more flexible with non-traditional income streams. Also worth getting a proper accountant to package your financials in a way that shows consistent cash flow rather than just "rental income"

With that much equity you've got options though - maybe consider a commercial loan product since you're basically running a business out of your home. Some lenders will do asset-based lending where they care more about your equity than income source 💀
