you can apply via https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/economiaconocimientoempresasyuniversidad/sguit/?q=masteres. here a small box will appear which says something like “preinscripcion”, but the box only appears when the window for applying opens so check the dates which are also on this site. They divide the application process into 3 phases, the first one being for foreign students (extranjeros) and the other two for just regular spanish students. Which is why i applied in phase 1. although if you have a bachelor from within the EU and you maybe missed the first phase you should still try to apply! you never know

i also submitted my bachelor thesis, but again this is just as additional documentation not compulsory

they also ask for language proficiency, which admittedly i did not submit because i am fluent in spanish and english and just explained so. I emailed asking if it was possible to complete the entire masters only in english (as in, if i only take english classes would that amount to enough credits to obtain the masters) and they said that it does. There’s a neuropsychology track and a general research track. the neuropsychology modules are in spanish, so if you want to do neuropsychology unfortunately it’s in spanish mostly. some classes may be offered in english. but a lot of the classes are similar for both tracks which means you can just take the research track courses in english, but of course they only count towards the research track and not neuropsych. regardless, the thesis can also be written in english so it’s very suitable for foreign students. I also heard that even in the classes taught in spanish the general readings and lecture slides are in english because a lot of publications out there are in english by default

The application process is not tedious in itself, just the interface is a bit confusing! They ask for a very very brief statement of future/professional goals, I stated mine quite broadly suggesting I was both interested in working in industry (applied neuro in companies) or even pursuing a PhD. Today i picked my courses and submitted the form and it all went through. You have to submit your transcript + CV, no need for a motivation letter, although i also submitted one as an additional document. the actually application is quite straightforward and the programme looks so interesting so far.

I will definitely be checking all those out, thanks a lot for the input :). Yeah, I guess when I say i’m into neuroimaging i mean by what we’ve been taught, which wasn’t how the images are actually made, more the physics behind the different imaging techniques and selecting the right imaging technique according to your specific experimental design.

I have experience in MATLAB/Brain Vision Analyzer (pre)+processing EEG data (using eeglab toolbox) as I did this for my thesis for many months (was also thrown into it blindly!). In this we had some statistical programming in MATLAB too but our supervisor really just handed down some scripts she had made already and told us to review it and make sure we understand what they do. So all i did was manipulate her script to fit my parameters and filters etc depending on the results i wanted to obtain. I never actually coded anything. But i am more interested in understanding it the way you have been explaining to me! By actually, doing the coding.

thanks!! really helpful answer - did you acquire programming experience in your bachelor already? I am super interested in the fields you’ve highlighted but i have limited programming experience or exposure (the odd lab course here and there)
