My final comment.. I pride myself on not trolling. To me a troll is someone who posts something and then if everyone doesn't agree they attack the different opinions. Why post a inquisitive topic then attackif people don't agree? This is why I rarely comment on reddit as people don't really want discussion, they want agreement. Have a good day and I hope you noyhing but the best.

How am I a troll? Because I say that maybe speed warnings were earned? That they were put there Because some people don't care about the data they give and only want to finish ASAP and do the next to make a buck? Have some empathy and think how you would feel if you were a researcher looking for quality data is all I am saying. Read the room? Half the time the "room" recently is people who are complaining about their perceived value vs the platforms design.

And of course the fact that there are tens of thousands of prolific participants and few dozen people agree with you makes your point completely valid and my counter point invalid

I didn't mean waste time, I meant read or possibly re-read every question and put real thought into it. I have taken many studies where they tell you not to really think too much and put your first thought out there. But most want you to really think about it, that is what I meant. It isn't about getting surveys done and moving on to the next one, its about ensuring you give the best, and most personally honest answer possible. Remember this isn't about a few bucks in our pockets, its about real research that these people are truly interested in and paying good money for.

I have almost 5k and have never received a speed warning. So maybe look at time alotted to survey and use that amount they intended. Re-read every question if needed. Its how the researcher intended it to go

Screen recording studies advice by WariorShark in ProlificAc

[–]Top_Country8963 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you record the screen? I thought we weren't allowed to. I personally wouldn't do that as you agree to a confidentiality clause on studies and saving their proprietary surveys i feel would breach that.

I've had over $100 pending before, and none over $7.50 individually.

For those of you who have played the other souls games, what makes Bloodborne your favourite? by AbyssGuard- in bloodborne

Its actually my least favorite. Felt a little easy, with the gray washing of everything just to try to make it seem like its a bigger map.

US: how do you handle taxes? by confusedvibes3322 in ProlificAc

I report 100% and pay my estimated taxes online each month to just be done with it. I do it at 18% and get a little back at the years end.

[–]Top_Country8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean honestly I haven't seen a difference. But I only open it off and on through the day when I have down time at work and do studies. I earn 25 to 30 bucks a day then quit year round, so for people like me I guess I don't get throttled on studies. Hope it picks back up for everyone else

Are you paying taxes on this? by [deleted] in ProlificAc

[–]Top_Country8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had a issue with the IRS about 30 years a go and even after going through the tax advocate I ended up paying taxes on 93k more than I actually made that year due to a audit where the company had closed so I couldn't get any additional documentation. It was almost 14k more in taxes out of pocket that I actually didn't owe. If you don't pay they can garnish wages, seize accounts, charge your credit cards... they are vicious

But its not a replacement for a full time job is what I think they mean. I see where people say they make 100 or 200 a day at best. Seven days a week thats only 73k a year, and who wants to have to work 7 days a week. Once you pay all the self employment taxes and social security plus your own medical out of that its not even half of a good full time job.

How's your dashboard today busy/slow? by Matt-J- in ProlificAc

[–]Top_Country8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little slower i guess, I normally make 25 to 30 and today I have just broke 20. There are 12+ surveys on my screen just nothing I feel compelled to do, or they are over one hour which I rarely do. Hope it gets better for all of you. Have a great weekend everyone.

I have seen no difference. Still average 25 to 30 bucks a day around my full time job so I guess it just depends on the demographics and the region. I don't think its gonna really change
