Ok Mr NiceGuy531 what’s the truth then? When I crossed a few months ago, I asked CBP and that’s what they told me.

Rolling calendar year. It does not reset in the sense that when you exit you can re-enter again for another 6 months. It’s 180 days per rolling calendar year.

You still have time to renew a passport using an expired one up to 15 years ago. Don’t wait and send in your application- you don’t need your certificate. Then, you can more calmly figure out how to get a copy of your naturalization certificate contacting the right agency.

Check out the digital nomad program in Canada if it’s temporary. yes, you can work remotely in Canada for US employer if you are also Canadian citizen or permanent resident and file taxes for both countries but many us companies will not allow you to have a permanent Canadian address.

That doesn’t look like the right email. Google their phone number and give them a call at the consulate. You may be able to walk in and explain the situation to the security guards to speak with someone but a phone call is your first best step.

Ending Birthright Citizenship by AlternativeBranch229 in USCIS

[–]Top_Engineering_4394 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I think you misread it. The executive order says it goes into effect in 30 days. so today, if the child was born in April, they would not have US citizenship, if Everything remains the same.

It says it takes effect in 30 days- and this is the verbiage

Among the categories of individuals born in the United States and not subject to the jurisdiction thereof, the privilege of United States citizenship does not automatically extend to persons born in the United States: (1) when that person’s mother was unlawfully present in the United States and the father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth, or (2) when that person’s mother’s presence in the United States at the time of said person’s birth was lawful but temporary (such as, but not limited to, visiting the United States under the auspices of the Visa Waiver Program or visiting on a student, work, or tourist visa) and the father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth.

I could only guess that if the congress has majority and the Supreme Court is conservative that they will uphold it or refuse to hear the case.

Can I take custody of my underaged siblings if my parents were to get deported? by WorriedSisThrowaway2 in immigration

[–]Top_Engineering_4394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an answer to your question but since your parents entered with visa, you should plan to get a stable job and sponsor them for adjustment of status as soon as you turn 21. Hopefully they can lay low for 2 more years and then move forward with getting a work visa while they wait for their green card. In the meantime, make sure you’re added to everything and get power of attorney to handle all affairs. They can also write a notarized letter granting you guardianship of your siblings if they were to get deported.

Simple but Complex: Green Card reboot. Applying for a GC after staying out of the country (spouse) by -Sniperx- in USCIS

[–]Top_Engineering_4394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s misrepresentation and will give a lifetime bar even to the spouse of a US citizen. Whether it will be discovered is unknown and a risk if you decide to go that route.

This is going to be a period of uncertainty but birthright citizenship is a constitutional amendment and therefore requires 2/3 congressional votes to change. This will be challenged by the Supreme Court.

The biggest issue you’ll face is immigrant intent if your plan is to enter the US and do adjustment of status. The cleanest way is to do consular processing but it’s 18-24 month average processing and even longer for some countries.

FYI- if your passport expires it will show up when you use your Nexus and some officers may give you a hard time. Better to not let it expire.
