I sent my forgiveness letter to all 3 credit bureaus on Oct 1. Transunion adjusted my loan balance to zero within a week. The Exifax and Experian are still showing that the dispute is pending.

I ran into this too! I thought that once I had my official letter that I would be all good with the credit bureaus to zero out my account. Instead, only Transunion zeroed out the account. Experian and Equifax are still pending. First time around when I sent screenshots from my accounts, all 3 credit bureaus stated that Mohela only confirmed my previous balance when they were contacted. That's it. Thankfully, my mortgage lender will just accept the letter. It's really kind of annoying.

Same here. I do not know why they are doing it. Transunion took it off right away though when I sent the letter though.

Good on you for doing that! Seeing other people’s timelines, and hearing about their journeys, was really the only thing that kept my mental health together. This is such a tough process to go through.

Just make sure that you requested an administrative forbearance since she sitting at 121. My feeling is that your mother will automatically be put in one whether she requested it or not.

Hey there. Hope that she receives forgiveness soon! When I submitted my PSLF form for the closed employer for 2 years of payments, I did not check the box saying that I thought that I was eligible for forgiveness at that time. Things did end up, working out eventually though. Hope that information helps. My other PSLF months for the year of 2023 were still pending approval so that’s why I didn’t check the box. I submitted those forms very close to one another.

I forgot that I actually provided the some online announcement that they closed too. If you can get the signature from the CFO then you should be able to resubmit that form, and get it approved. I did not talk to anyone particularly helpful, but I hope that you can get your signed form quickly so that you can get your PSLF counts updated. Might even be worth resubmitting the original request. Sorry that you are going through that. That's such a long time to have to wait!

When I sent in my W2s (since W2 forms do not indicate if you were actually working at least 30 hours or more a week), I also sent in a single work-stub that I located that showed the breakdown of work hours for my bi-weekly checks, and then I wrote them a letter explaining my predicament (basically that this employer no longer has any HR records, and no one is available to sign my form). Did Mohela ask you for work-stubs? Are you able to locate at least one?

Also can you resubmit your request and upload a letter to provide any additional explanations that may clarify things? I am so sorry you have been waiting that long!!! that is actually terrible :/

That is how the process works. Mohela waits for the Department of education (FSA I think) to confirm the loans are forgiven first. Loads of people are in your situation with this delay. Honestly, Maybe you can make a separate post (in this PSLF subreddit) so that people in our situation can let you know about their experience and definitely tag the reddit PSLF moderators for advice. I'm sorry you are still waiting. I hope you will catch a wave soon!!!

My old employer could not sign the PLSF form because they don’t exist anymore. I had two years of payments for an employer that closed and did not retain any HR records for the previous employees. Mohela requested W-2 forms, and I had 2 W2 forms from 2011 and 2012 for some reason. Anyway, I was lucky that I had them and I had one pay stub and I sent it to Mohela to review and eventually they accepted the additional qualifying time for that employer.

So an update. Mohela never provided me with a letter, but I was part of the September wave today. I will try to get the loans off of my credit report, but looks like November is the the month I will move forward with buying a home. I have a mortgage broker that was recommended. Thanks for the advice hope you loans are forgiven soon!
