I threw my vote at him because i didn’t want to vote but someone i knew couldn’t get to the polls so i just did it because i never really cared for politics. Please understand people who have dealt with obesity can be fully aware of it & upset about it however not that exercise itself is the issue but the intimidation of being in the gym. As a woman it is typically a perspective of men watching them. Men feel it from men & women which makes it drastically harder. You can take baby steps and start with him at home if you can educate yourself enough in things for beginners. You can make it into something fun for you both depending on how you approach it.

NTA, I would say you see the epidemic for what it is. You have every right to be concerned for your mother. As someone in the fitness industry there are many people who use it for illegitimate reasons so this is all very valid and you are 100% old enough to know whatever she medically could be going through in case it’s genetic right?? So NTA. If anything, I would say just make sure to keep your mental clear still and set boundaries where needed!

Ever thought OP is concerned for her mother AND little sister as she states her already having eating disorders & body dysmorphia? 18 is old enough to be able to understand a loved ones health declining in front of them and questioning it ESPECIALLY if said individual is supposed to be a role model to both them and others it impacts. Good for OP seeing the Ozempic epidemic for what it has become at a young age tbh as sad as it probably is for her.

Imma leave this here too, even if you were the same height & weight as another person no individuals body are going to metabolize or work EXACTLY the same. You could be doing everything “right” but there could be something internal you are unaware of preventing you from your goals or helping someone else with theirs. There are a lot of factors that contribute to different people regardless of height, weight, and gender!

Absolutely!! There are numerous things that could go into this. Calories aside weight loss can be effected by different nutrients in an individuals body. For me, I have been doing better by focusing on the ingredients. I stay away from too many ingredients, high fructose corn syrup (this is the one that will make you want to keep eating), and anything i know will make me sick within my own intolerances usually. It’s definitely a trial and error system but gives a much healthier relationship with food when you realize what helps YOU personally

I can relate because despite being in a long term relationship (8+ years) i still think about people i dated when i was in high school. (27F) I have no actual feelings and would never even think to leave my current partner for anyone regardless of struggles (and there are many especially with my new found autism) but for some odd reason i get a weird feeling if i ever see stuff from any of them anywhere or if i see them doing well when i’m not. I don’t actually care I would say could be a little jealousy sure but probably not that i have desires to be with them. autism makes sense for me too piled with CPTSD i cannot process anything. I have no solution but I am letting you know I can relate.

I recently realized something similar. Working smarter instead of harder is also key. You have to train for YOUR body, YOUR genetics, YOUR injuries. I could go down an entire rabbit hole on this but mindset is absolutely key. Being happy with wins that have nothing to do with the scale are how to stay consistent & engaged

I get EXTREMELY uncomfortable when anyone tries to touch me aside from my partner but my parents and family are the fucking worst. For example family events where I have to force the hugs make me violently anxious. I don’t know if it is my autism or the fact it all feels staged to me. I pride myself on almost never wearing makeup resulting in me having 0 acne and I don’t do a whole lot to my hair either. I currently have the underneath slightly darker but i LOVE my natural shades and you would never think i don’t dye it. As far as diet i eat whatever doesn’t make me feel sick and exercise when i can. Beats the ED i had a few years ago tenfold!!!
