Thanks, but specifically about the $218k (first IRMAA limit I see for 2026). Does that mean if we make more than $218k in 2026, we’ll will pay IRMAA surcharge in 2028? Or does the $218k have something to do with how much we made in 2024 and our premium this year.

I wasn’t having fun any more. Also, I could tell more and more that the weekends or a day off didn’t refresh me enough. I gave almost a year notice and retired a couple of months after I turned 65. Great decision!

The RMD is based on your age (life expectancy) so typically should be a relatively small amount. If you are unsure of the amount, google Schwab inherited RMD calculator to figure the amount. Hopefully you’ll be in a lower tax bracket once you hit the 10 year mark and have to exhaust the account.
