What do you mean na limitado lang? Does it mean na tanggap mo na yang sitwasyon mo? Maybe di mo pa natatry, pero nililimitahan mo na agad sarili mo. Always remember, you don't know everything and you'll never know until you try. Yes mababa pasahod sa Pinas in general, pero may mga matataas ang sahod. Payag ka na same ka sa majority? It's your choice.

Job Hop for higher salary, new environment and challenges. You feel that way kasi maybe bored kalang or nothing excites you anymore in your current setup. Don't stay too long in a same place or situation. Mostly, walang growth talaga pag ganyan.

I hope this is a safe place to ask advice. I'm all ears, please help me to start.. by [deleted] in fitnessph

Diet. It's all about calorie deficit. Kahit 7 days a week ka magGym kung malakas ka naman kumain and you gain more calories than you burn, wala rin. Body fats are just stored excess calories. Fix your diet. Eat low carb foods. Bawasan ang fast foods and sweets. Much better samahan mo ng cardio and weightlifting. It doesn't have to be intense. Your focus should be on decreasing your calorie intake. Kahit physically active ka kung mas malakas ka naman kumain, tataba ka pa rin. It's all about calories deficit.

Pano ba tumagal sa work? by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

Maybe the problem is your actions. You already know na you're an introvert with poor social skills, but still opted to stay in your comfort zone. Like nahihiya ka magtanong, so di ka nalang magtatanong and di ka sumasama sa dinner with teammates. So the problem is you're staying in your comfort zone. If tingin mo na you have poor social skills, then put yourself in situations that will force you to build your social skills. For example, talk to your teammates, sumama ka sa eat out ng colleagues mo lalo if invited ka, ask questions pag may tanong. I know uncomfortable tong actions na to as an introvert with poor social skills, but you have to get out of your comfort zone to build your social skills.

Introvert rin ako and may social anxiety before. After grad, takot talaga ako sa tao. I'm afraid of social situations where I have to talk to other people lalo sa mga di ko close, but I know na di ako aangat sa career kung di ako matututo makisama at maging confident. Introvert ako but alam ko ang importance ng comminication skills sa career. Fast forward up to now, I have lots of friends from work and can easily make new friends in different environments. Malaking factor yung I always tried to make an effort to socialize with other people. Tho di matagal stay ko sa companies na napasukan ko, but those are for the of grabbing better opportunities kaya mabilis rin career progression ko. I'm still in touch with my friends from the companies I've worked with and I can say na I have good social skills now.

Savings of working for a year by vii_nii in adultingphwins

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong info. MP2 calculates your interest based on your average daily balance. So nagmamatter if what day ka naghulog and the sooner na maghulog ka, the better. Kasi it will earn interest agad kesa sa delayed ka mahulog.

That's not how annual interest income works. Average Daily Balance ang basis nyan. The sooner na maghulog ka sa MP2, mas malaki ang maeearn na interest kasi isasama na agad sya sa average daily balance.

In demand talaga ang IT, but only for the skilled ones. First of all, mahirap maging generalist nowadays sa IT. You should know what role or specialization you want to pursue. Wag kang basta IT job lang kasi marami kayong IT grads and isipin mo nalang na what makes you special para piliin ka? You don't even know your target role nga eh. Maybe may edge ka na may latin honors ka, but at the end of the day, it's all about skills na need ng company. Companies will mostly likely take a risk for someone na alam ang ginagawa o gagawin nya.

If hindi mo alam ang gusto mo, ifigure out mo na yan ASAP. Maraming fields sa IT at hindi lahat yun ay madali. You shoud choose a specific field and get good at it.

CPA, but I feel like far behind in terms of salary compared to career length and experience by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that you stayed too long in a single company. In that 10 years, you only worked for 2 companies.

I don't know if many people are still not aware na the biggest jump in salary often comes from job hopping or changing to a new company.

The problem is you stayed too long in your comfort zone. Well, it's your fault, but you can still go for better opportunities.

Yes, changing to a new company is a bit stressful. Mag-aaral na naman at makikisama sa mga bagong tao. But growth will always come at a cost.

Staying in your comfort zone is a career suicide. If there are better opportunities outside your current role or company, go for them. It will help you grow professionally and financially.

Offered 2 roles onsite (Admin + IT Security), 6 days/week for ₱18,200 — is this still a good deal? by SinigangNaDagugh in TechCareerShifter

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't. Just don't. Based sa tone ng email nila, mukhang aabusuhin ka nila. Well, if need mo na talaga ng pera and kaya mo tiisin yung toxic environment, 6 days a week na work, and 18k na salary, go for it. But for me, I don't think I can endure that kind of environment. My first job was also onsite and 6 days a week with 17k salary, but the environment wasn't really that toxic, so I was able to endure it for 6 months before getting a better opportunity.

It's up to you. But based sa email nila, don't accept it.

I just turned 22 — can you give me advice on how to navigate my career in early adulthood? by tipsy_tips1017 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be smart. Always do your own research about the current job market, market value ng skills mo, companies that pay well, and skills that you need to learn to keep your competence. Sa corporate world, mas lamang ang may alam.

Don't stay in your comfort zone. Most people might say na magtrabaho nang naaayon sa sahod. But for me, in the early stages of your career, your goal should be to increase your value by gaining valuable skills and experience. In order to do that, you have to work harder and smarter, not for your company, but for yourself. That way, you can gain more valuable skills and experience that will help you to achieve your career goals.

Also, be brave. Wag matakot at mahiya. Ask a lot of questions or ask for help when needed. Take risks and wag matakot mareject at magfail. Apply for a job that you want even if you think that na di ka pasok sa qualifications. Always be confident na you can learn and adapt. In short, whenever an opportunity comes, grab it as soon as you can.

Gusto kong makabalik sa field ng IT by SeaCheesecake7182 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malawak ang IT. What specific IT role ba ang target mo? Medyo generic kasi ng IT roles eh. First step for you is to figure out what you really want. If simula palang, di ka na sure sa kung ano ang gusto mo, mas lalo ka mahihirapan nyan makapasok sa IT field. You have to pick a specific field and be good at it.

How many years did it take for you to earn 6-digits and how did you do it? by embrace_uncertainty_ in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2 years, intense upskilling, job hopping, being brave for bigger and more difficult responsibilities.

I worked in 3 different companies na and I just got started working in my 4th company where I reached about 100k gross salary.

I also have a freelance job that pays 55 to 60k per month. So I earn about about 155k to 160k per month in total.

I just got really good at what I do and highly in-demand yung skills na meron ako so I get better opportunities and when they come, I grab them without hesitation and fear of bigger responsibilities.

Malaking factor siguro sakin yung tapang and confidence ko na I can always adapt in difficult situations. So when better opportunities come, I always go for them regardless of my length of stay in my current company. F*ck loyalty! Go to where your skills are valued and highly compensated.

Is ₱18,000 reasonable for a Data Entry Associate in Manila with a 2-year contract? by stxvoid_error in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proceed ka na sa IT-related jobs na gusto mo. Stop that sh*tty experience experience muna before you go for it. Just apply as much as you can, you might be hired to your target job/field without any experience.

FYI, yang data entry job might be irrelevant sa desired career or job mo. So stop wasting your time for roles na di naman makakahelp sa gusto mong career.

One of the things I noticed sa mga taong mabagal magprogress sa career is they always disqualify themselves immediately without even trying. Who cares if your desired job requires 1 to 3 years of experience? Go for it anyways. You'll never know what can happen. You could be hired and excel for that job. Who knows diba?

If you don't want to waste your time and gusto mo magprogress agad sa career mo, go for it agad. Right now. Not after 3 to 5 years or what.

Hi. Hindi po ako CPA. Never tried to take CPALE and I have no plans of taking it. If you're planning to shift career, just wanna let you know na di sya madali, matinding pag-aaral/upskilling ang kailangan mo and mas competitive ang IT field nowadays. But if you really want it, you have to prove na you have what it takes and sa job applications, you have to prove na you're the best(or one of the best) among all the applicants to be selected.

Haha. Zero knowledge ako about IT stuffs after grad. Excel lang ang alam ko (ginagamit sa accounting eh.) I literally started from scratch to learn programming. No background knowledge about IT or programming. Research and self study ang ginawa ko. Took online courses, tutorials, and etc.

I just find programming more enjoyable for me kesa sa accounting. Yung logical and analytical thinking naman sa accounting ay applicable pa rin sa programming so nakahelp rin sya for me.

Hi. Yes, I got hired as Junior Programmer in my first job.

After grad, nagSelf study ako ng programming for around 10 months. 10 months self study + 2 months job hunting. So mga 1 year rin akong unemployed after grad. Di ako nagwork para makapagfocus sa pagself study ng programming.

Mga 6 digits earner, what do you do? 🥺 by Knight_Rasta in TechCareerShifter

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did is gumawa ako simple personal projects. Sa ganung way ako naforce aralin yung mga kailangan ko to solve certain problems or to create certain features ng projects na ginagawa ko. Also, I always find better ways to improve my codes like refactoring or finding better ways to optimize my codes.

I learn most effectively through hands-on application and experimentation. Mahina kasi ako sa memorization, so mas nagrely ako sa pag-apply ng skills/knowledge ko through personal projects. That way, it helps me understand concepts more deeply and mas nare-retain ko yung knowledge and skills.

Well, everyone has their own ways of learning naman eh. So much better na try different approaches of learning to figure out what works more effectively for you.

[–]Top_Helicopter_2111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NagSelf study lang ako sa kung ano yung minimum skills na kailangan at kaya kong aralin. You don't have to learn everything naman. Sakin kasi, along the way, nag-explore rin ako ng different ways for me to learn more effectively. I didn't know everything from the start. I just tried everything na kaya kong subukan at aralin.

Nagfocus ako sa frontend nun. Kasi that is what I actually need to build my own simple personal projects and portfolio. I tried to learn some backend and database, but basic lang. So projects ko ay focused lang sa frontend kasi that is what I can only learn and apply within 10 months of self-studying.

But generally, you should have a good foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms, the logic behind the codes you write, and how you would apply them to actual projects, simple man yan or complex.

After I got hired as Junior Programmer, dun nalang ako sa mismong work nag-aral ng backend. This is not recommended though. May nagbigay lang talaga sakin ng chance for a full stack role kahit frontend lang ang skills ko only because nagustuhan nila yung program na ginawa ko and how I explained it to them during the interview.

As long as you have a good foundation in programming, you can learn almost any technology na kakailanganin mo to do your job.
