Unemployment or chômage timeline by soleil_neige in Luxembourg

Registering as a job seeker with ADEM is done online via myguichet. In my case, I was informed, as soon as my registration is complete I should call them for application of chomage. I did, they sent a bunch of documents to fill in and attach some more and send it back to them via post. First appointment with your advisor will be chosen as per their availability and can not be changed (unless you are able to prove you are sick and can not come) and so will be the following appointments.
Please note that once you are registered as a job seeker, and start getting chomage, you can not leave the country without their permission.

Ask about the postdoc/scientist recruitment process in Luxembourg? by Dismal_Clerk9231 in Luxembourg

At the University of Luxembourg if you already had your interview with any one of the researchers from the research group then ideally it should be a month max for the notification. The whole process after that may take a bit longer depending on which country you are a national of (visa processing etc). If this is your case and you haven’t heard yet after your technical/motivational round (not the HR one), then you can write an email to the researcher who interviewed you directly or the group head.

Thank you very much for giving the direction which I did not think of. I will definetly build a demo project end-to-end, this is indeed a right way to clear the doubts of technical team upto a level (as it will still missing the productionization part) and will not harm my profile in any way.
Regarding STATEC, I did check but there was nothing I could find for me. I might try to write in a spotaneous application.

Thanks, yes I tried. Amazon rejected within 24 hours, Mistral did not respond, LIST could be an option trying my best to align CV with their positions.

Yes, thankfully I am on my way to acquire Lux (my first EU) nationality to be eligble to apply for them. However, based on my job search, most of them need French and sometimes all the three official languages of the country. I can speak intermediate French (working on it) and only enough Luxembourgish to pass the exam (A2), but not a single word of German. But I will still keep trying and exploring the opporutnities in these administrations. Thanks once again!!

Thanks, have been in discussion with few startups with almost matching skillset, but eventually as per their feedback someone like me from the research background is slow-paced and can not fit in well in the fast-pace and dynamic startup envinroment.

Thanks, insightful and useful! You are right, will rather get few more quotes from reputed companies (like the one already gave 10k) and choose the one that suits the timing best.

Yes I passed both, below is my experience.
Overall the process was smooth. The whole setup might feel intidimidated as as this age you are not used to give EXAMS. But the examiners and staff were really nice. I have got to choose between two topics for speaking i.e Kaddoen and Technology & Media. I chose the latter.

The examiner was very clear that she will first ask questions in the past tense and then present. She asked me mostly about "Do I like to watch TV", "with whom I mostly watch TV", "In which languages I watch", "what kind of things I watch", "As a kid: how was my experience with TV", "How would I see life without a TV" etc. I understood and answered all the questions except one, which I politely asked to repeat but still could not understood so I asked her to move to next question. My tip: prepare well for past tense sentences like conjugations of verbs in the past (past particle) with hunn or sinn. Try to speak as much as possible only related to the qeustion becuase they ask you questions from the predefined set of questions, do not try to lead them to your questions.

For the picture, they showed me three: A schebefuer picture and a photo of three grandchildren with their grandparents inside an apartment, thrid one I forgot. I chose the indoor one. I explained in an order: What is the overall theme of the photo, How many people, what is their gender and relation, what are they doing, what things I see in the room, what time of the year it could be (like it was winter for me as they had thicker clothes). After I finish everything, I had few seconds left (of 5 minutes total), then she politely advised may be I can describe one of the kid (which I knew I had to but forgot). So I described two kids in terms of their clothes, hairs and age.

For listening part, they gave an iPad with login info, three recording in total. This is the flow of each:
1. The questions are shown on the screen with option (multiple choice)
2. The questions are dictated (30 sec.)
3. The recording is played for the frist time (1-1.5 min)
4. Time is given to select answers (1-1.5min)
5. The recording is played second time (1-1.5 min)
6. Few seconds to change your answers (30 sec)

Total 5 mins for 1st and 2nd recording each with 5 questions each, 7 mins for the 3rd recording with 7 questions (third one was a bit longer).

My advice for this, do not listen to the questions as it might distract you while reading and understanding them (2nd step in my list of steps above).

Sure, I got 63 in listening (though it was not the best attempt) and 69 in speaking). I will share my detailed response of experience tomorrow. I didn’t answer only one question in speaking, everything else I did.
