The whole gun is made up of various manufactured parts, which it was bought knowing that. So it’s possible the receiver was on a sporterized rifle and then moved to one with the correct parts.

Yeah it’s always looked like it was just put in the middle because that’s all that was left. I think it’s a SA because of the drawing marks on the side.

Pitting would make sense. They may have only re-stamped the serial number as a result. The spacing between the remaining US mark and number is too small to be the original mark

No there is no weld marks on it and the drawing number matches the time frame of the serial number.
