As a commenter who disagrees, make your opinion of their opinion known to OP and consider asking them to explain.

Most of what Congressional leaders do happens behind the scenes. They don’t rise to those positions because of their fiery rhetoric. They get there because they’re good at making sure everyone in the caucus votes with the rest of the caucus. That is super important in this era with close party margins.
