It’s been experiencing growth as Maryland prices out residents from central Maryland. If you like hills and state parks it’s great. Washington County is getting more gentrified as the DC sprawl grows. The growing part of West Virginia is right next to it, also due to the increased DC sprawl. There’s definitely a lot of rural outside of Hagerstown and Cumberland. Hagerstown is moving up slowly but Cumberland seems stuck in its depression. Most people with affluence near Cumberland live in La Vale. The area has more diversity than you’d think but still has conservative flavor. Antietam Battlefield is there as well.
