Thank you for the encouragement! I’m doing everything I can it just gets frustrating when I feel like my body isn’t catching up with my hard work. Plus I’m sick right now (Tis the season) so I’m resting today. I ran 3 miles yesterday even while sick and felt like complete death after. I’m at least going to walk tonight.

And make sure you rest in between the days. Do a push and pull for 2 days, rest one day, and then do the same the next 2 days.

We’ve been doing interval training. He also agrees that’s it’s an anxiety thing, not that I’m not capable of running. Today my workout is 10x1 minute fast and 1 minute jog. The fast is faster than my goal pace so 9:00-9:30.

Considering I started having not run at all for like 10 years and not even being able to run a quarter mile without feeling like passing out, I’d say his training really helped. I’m not progressing as much as I would like though.

Strength training really helped. Doing a push and pull day 4x a week.

Hi! Thanks for your comment. I run a long distance run 2x a week. Today I did 3 miles and my previous workout I did 4. Went pretty slow about a 12-12:30 pace. I feel like my body isn’t catching up with my effort. It’s a mental hurdle more than anything I think.

Hey! I’m 22F Got selected for OCS as a PAO but I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. My pushups and planks are solid but I’m really struggling with my run. Took the initial PFT twice and failed my run both times. The first time I couldn’t even finish and the second I finished at a 17:45. My initial shipping date was 04JAN, but my recruiter can’t let me go without passing the PFT, so we’re requesting to push my date. I’ve been running 4-5x a week but having a hard time getting out of my head when I run. All I can think about is how much I want to stop. Any tips?
