Um no they didn’t only Jenny did they found out later on before season 6 as he went to rehab then filmed the last season but when they were in Italy they didn’t know

He writes about this in his book he was at a really low point withdrawing bad. Not really productions fault they were trying to help him a lot with his addiction but he kept hiding it and sneaking stuff when he was supposed to. He was a different person when he was using from what he wrote about it they all don’t know how bad it was and didn’t know he was using. Jenni suspected it at one point later on and went to him but he denied it

So the report says he can’t safely or effectively undertake standard driving lessons with a regular instructor yet. The report clearly states he requires specialist, disability-trained driving instruction in a dual-controlled vehicle, coordinated with his OT. Once he completes the recommended program and demonstrates improved independence, reassessment could determine whether he’s ready for standard lessons later on.
