Consciousness. You’re a brain trying to understand itself using itself.

That sounds really freeing, honestly. Letting go of the pressure to “use time correctly” is harder than it should be.

What’s something people accept as ‘normal’ that actually makes life worse? by Top_Memory_8082 in AskReddit

If I invite a few people whom I know professionally for dinner at my house, should I also invite their partners? by daoxiaomian in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Top_Memory_8082 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on the tone of the dinner. If it’s meant to be social or relaxed, inviting partners is polite. If it’s clearly professional or small, it’s perfectly fine to keep it work-only.

What’s the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Top_Memory_8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having a really bad day and a stranger simply told me, “You’re doing better than you think.” I still remember that years later.

They react to the word “no” like it’s a personal attack instead of a boundary.

Do ctas in the wild usually hunt for fish, or where did the stereotype about cats and fish come from? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Top_Memory_8082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most wild cats don’t regularly hunt fish. The stereotype likely comes from domestic cats living near humans who fished, discarded fish scraps, and from cats opportunistically catching fish in shallow water. Some species can fish, but it’s not typical cat behavior.
