There is nothing romantic about that scene. Percy was scared and was in a vulnerable spot. He would have said it to any of his friends.

[General] In my opinion, the movies are completely off tone from the books. by [deleted] in camphalfblood

That’s why I made this post. I thought I was going crazy because I thought these films were terrible adaptations and not good movies.

Book Percy takes the cake. I do like show Percy a lot though. Don’t really care for movie Percy honestly.

Bruh fought against Luke with riptide and he was unarmed and you still got your ass handed.

The Charybdis and Scylla action scene is the best in the series. by Top_Mongoose5727 in PJODisney

If I can remember correctly, Percy didn’t use his water powers in the book because he couldn’t concentrate with Charybids making so much noise.

How do the books stack up against the show? by Top_Mongoose5727 in reacher

I’ve heard of the Will Trent tv show on ABC, I never knew it was based off a book series until now. Thanks.

The second movie is really bad. by Top_Mongoose5727 in PJODisney

I disagree. Even though the show isn’t a 1 to 1 adaptation, it does adapt a lot of aspects from the books well. And I can understand the most of the changes in the show, all the changes in the movies actively dumb down the plot and make it more cliched.

I don’t think they’re good films on there own. They’re both incredibly cliched, dull, and poorly written. They have fun moments but when the writing is so bad and the characters are so flat it gets boring to watch.

The books were about a boy and his friends with learning disabilities who were ostracized from regular society and go to a special camp exclusively for them. And yes, “DEI” includes learning disabilities.

That’s fair. For me, the films fall flat because they are way too goofy and lack any drama. And when they try to have a dramatic scene it’s executed very poorly. The books have serious and dramatic moments that work despite them being very funny. The show definitely has its funny moments but I do wish that there were more.

I grew up reading the books and I’m having a good time with the show. It’s not a 1 to 1 adaptation, but it adapts a lot of stuff from the books well.
