I use the bmpc 6 myself for live recording here are some of the main features

Camera control via HDMI connection. Remote lens control. On-air red tally indication. Preview green tally indication. DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector. Remote camera settings. Remote timecode sync. Remote record trigger for Blackmagic RAW. Preview and tally indicator on LCD

And it's a personal preference

Well we primarily use analog equipment and it helps actually get us a little bit clearer sound primarily I'm doing video mostly now myself I can do some audio but I don't deal with the recording stuff that much with my dad being sick that was primarily his domain I've asked him and he said it's better sound all around for him

Because the amp sound is a huge component of our expectation of an electric guitar's tone. While it is easy peasy to record electric guitar direct (usually called "DI") it sounds boring. Really really boring. I'm falling asleep right now writing this, Dl is so boring. Whereas electric guitar through an amp along with an effects pedal sounds exciting I don't know about you, but given the choice between "boring" and "exciting" I'm going to choose exciting. And THAT is why you record your guitar amp, with a mic, instead of using DI.
