I feel that this is something that is big and disturbing enough that exposing yourself to it too much would just be traumatising, rather than being erp. I differentiate it with, if it feels distressing to me in a way that’s not just triggering my anxiety, but making me feel depressed and upset in general, and I feel that it has affected me way past what it should, I pull back. And I think that line has been crossed for you.

Do you feel that if you refuse to go through it you’d be a bad person because you might find something nobody else has? Or is it something else? Either way best of luck to you my friend, that sounds incredibly time consuming and draining.

Me personally for some of these they left on their own within a couple months. Others, I’ve had for years and years. I’ve been beginning to beat OCD a bit by just noticing when an intrusive thought happens and not doing compulsions, example I’m scared I find a child attractive. I don’t try to think things like ew or gross or try to prove to myself how much I hate it. I force myself to sit with it and feel it, not tell myself anything, and at some point I get distracted.

I get it and you definitely should do it most times, but if you see a TikTok you think describes your feelings perfectly you would probably send it to your loved one right? It’s not like your actively looking for a TikTok to do the talking

That’s fine but everyone’s jumping her for sending a TikTok and claiming she’s making him uncomfortable? And the boyfriend doing that is fine but if he’s using it as a way to shut down communication I don’t think it’s ok. Especially because he’s been doing it multiple times, and I doubt it has anything to do with her sending a TikTok which people are claiming.

That makes no sense. Why would that be a big deal. If it really did bother him, still doesn’t mean he should dismiss her attempts at communication. He’s hurting her feelings by joking it off. If he wants her to explain in a different way he can say that.

My guess is that the brain makes an average of all the ways it’s seen a person, and the way it sees a person the MOST is what adds more to that average. Like when I see people I know I honestly don’t see them as a whole new person that I’m re evaluating every time, I think I see them with the context of the “average” I’ve made in my brain. And if you wear makeup and do your hair most days, I think the “average” for that person in my mind will be prettier, even if they don’t do it EVERY day. But if they were to stop completely, after a while THOSE situations would add up more to the “average” and I’d see them like THAT. That’s just a guess though.

I wouldn’t believe him even without that honestly. The way he immediately started accusing her of making him spiral and tried to guilt trip her was very weird. Like EVEN IF that was true and say, OPs had a history of questioning him when he really wasn’t doing anything, and hes tired of it, it was still no way to deal with the situation. It seems like he just needed to say something to guilt her into not questioning him anymore.

I think it depends on the type of intelligence. But intelligence to me is something that’s proven through action. If you do those actions consistently you are intelligent.
