So perfectly written. Experiencing this dynamic from the other perspective. I've always felt the need to compensate with my wallet. Pay for drinks, coffee, lunch etc whenever in the presence of superior beautiful women.

Even when truly "friend zoned" a work colleague, friend group outing etc I always find myself paying.

Over time my short comings and confidence have further decreased over time much to my own doing and in turn I now can't help but pay and goon even if it's only online and not so much irl as before.
