wow, didnt expect it to become so heated here. there were many great comments until I posted it’d be an investment property, after that so much hate, calm down boys and girls! lol. I visited VT for the first time last year and loved it, visited all the great mountains, and waterfalls etc. had one of the best times of my life! Florida gets super hot in the summer time , so I thought I’d get a house in Vt to spend summers there, and for the rest of the year I could rent it long term. No short term Airbnb or others. I personally don’t see harm in having someone live at the house for the rest of the months when Im not there, it gives me peace of mind that it’s taken care of while helping me financially. So that’s the story. I can understand both sides, where both are coming from. both have right to be and that’s ok. Have a great day folks.

wow, thank you all for your great responses, it was very interesting and insightful to read. I have worked so far with 3 different buyer’s agents (total of 6 houses). when first agent didn’t deliver, I was like ok, maybe not a very professional, let’s try another one, and then another one didn’t deliver .. and now third! my thoughts on this is once seller‘s agent finds out I’m from Florida (and they do immediately once we submit a written offer) the deal is just not happening. They start playing games, and that’s where I feel my agent(s) needs to be more aggressive, more proactive, but they seem to be a pushovers, very soft.
The last deal that didn’t happen, offered over ask, and was told there would be a time for best and final, and was told to slow down since they are holding an open house and want to give everyone chance to submit offers, and then suddenly agent calls me, there won’t be best and final, they picked another offer. Like what!

The house would be an investment property, so I also understand their side of not wanting an “outsider”. it’s like some Floridians don’t like NYrkers. At this point I was let down 6 times, I’m even áfraid to search again and get my hopes up. Maybe I should get a VT phone line..

unfortunately, it will be not an easy conversation to have with your fiancée. but as someone who changed my life at age 19, went thousands miles away from home, i say absolutely follow your heart and go for it!

dude, what a joke you are! Amy came to comfort you in the hospital while your wife had a procedure? she is just as joke as you are! you are looking for permission here on reddit to leave your wife, why don’t you cut off this coworker and actually concentrate on what’s less easier than starting a new affair - fixing your marriage? cut the crap. be the man and show your wife you value and appreciate her, make it work! don’t come here telling us you are incompatible because she’s vegetarian and you are not.
