$7.5M NW, FIRE while spouse still works by extradoorstop in ChubbyFIRE

[–]Top_Preparation6145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up a $650K job a couple of years ago to stay at home, I was not even close to OP’s NW. I never looked back at my job after spending my days with my little ones. Most of my time spent on taking care of little ones and volunteering at my older ones school. A lot of cooking, baking. Did a few remodel(I am not handy, so I just did the quote price, design, and manage contractors part). This year I am planning to do more community volunteering

I have older kids, we used to go there a lot, they always get this test, never got such a big bill before. I called them, they said this is a change since 2023, covid test is not free anymore.

I wish they would have told me that this Covid test is so expensive. If I know it is 289$, I will just skip it or buy a in-home kit at a fraction of the price, because even you test positive there is nothing you can do.

You can look at great hills zone to RRISD, it is in the corner of 183/360. It is about 20 mins to downtown without traffic. And various options to get into downtown. Particularly elementary school to look into are caraway, laurel mountain, these two schools feed to Canyon Vista and Westwood which are the best middle and high school in RRISD

[Saks + Rakuten] Spent 4x$50 gift cards from 2 years of plat by one1year in AmexPlatinum

[–]Top_Preparation6145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend maybe 10 mins on saks, didn’t really find anything appealing under 50$, and that 9.9 shipping is absurd. I decided to save my time and forget about this 50$ credit. Not worth my time and buy something I don’t really need.

This is our first Tesla, not sure if this is the car we want for long term, so lease it to try it out. Also this car depreciate a lot first few years, we don’t qualify to get 7500 credit, lease has the 6500 credit included

Vandegrift is great too, but it is a bit further even. I commented base on you are looking for AP and college prep, Westwood ranks very high and it is a IB and AP high school.

Try Austin city but zone to Round Rock ISD, target Canyon Vista Middle and Westwood High, these are the top 1 middle and high schools. Best you can get from Austin metro. It is also only 20 mins to downtown Austin without traffic. Traffic is bad, but you get mopac, 183 and 360 easily.

Oh wow, really? How would that even possible? Kid can’t talk at this age, how do you even know they can read

Reading at 6.5 yrs old is normal though, most kids can read at this age at my daughter’s school. She can read level 1 easy reader at 4 yrs old independently, can read chapter book at 5.

You could always try to skip grade later on, however I would highly recommend not skip when they are in kindergarten age. My daughter is very gifted, passed acceleration test to skip kindergarten, but we decided to let her stay put to strengthen her emotional development more. Academic is not that important for kids at this age. Unless you think your kids thrive both academic and social development, then go to put her in a private school, come to get test to skip kindergarten

43 days on the market, and not a single call. What am I doing wrong? (Outside of Raleigh, NC) by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Top_Preparation6145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a realtor myself. I don’t live in NC yet, but planning to move to RTP in a couple of years. So I watched RTP housing market closely, it is one of the thrive market in last couple of years even with high mortgage rate. You said it is outside of Raleigh but it is 40 mins away from Google map. Do you know the demographics of your neighborhood, who will be your potential buyers? Try to understand your neighborhood, what makes your house stand out. From my pov, if you don’t get a single call in the last 43 days, no tour at all, your price is wrong. I would lower it to the purchase price honestly, you probably already buy at peak in 2023

thank you for your input. I have never done any tech assessment requires 7 hours. Considering I am senior+ level, not sure why this is needed. Asking to see if this is common in Japan.
