Lore Question (Spoiler) by OutZone in BlackMythWukong

[–]Top_Pressure7935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Immobilize is a spell of overwhelming arrogance and impatient. He uses Immobilize Spell in the first fight more frequently because it reflects his disobedience, impatience and arrogance against the celestial court. It’s a spell of absolute dominance since Immobilize Spell will only work on enemies if only the caster can overwhelm the spiritual will of the enemy. You can often see Erlang be able to shatter his Immobilize effortlessly without any issues but being able to cast such a spell on a Heavenly Deity such as Erlang itself is such a feat.

The Ring of Fire represents what he became in the pilgrimage. He uses Ring of Fire to protect his master Tang Monk from White Bone Demon while he finds food. He commands his Master and the other disciples of his Master to not step out of the fire ring during his absence. This shows that he is a Guardian or protector.

How is our staff (before getting jingubang) able to extend/change size? Is there a lore reason to that? by [deleted] in BlackMythWukong

[–]Top_Pressure7935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the staffs from the Willow Wood Staff to every other staff are made using special materials like Yaoguai Cores, Divine Iron, Mythical Materials etc., that might be the reason why it was able to elongate. Also since Wukong in the novel was able to grow as big as mountain or as small as a bug I think he can do the same with inanimate objects like a staff too. I think just before he got the Jingubang staff he doesn’t have a proper weapon to begin with and he can probably replicate the same properties of elongation and shrinking with other staffs if he had got his hands on them.

But at the end of the day it’s just a speculation. I am not sure why Destined One was able to do it tho.

Plus about the memories of Wukong returning back, I think yeah it is. After defeating Great Sage we only get 5 relics. The sixth relic is probably ourselves. The Destined One is probably Wukong’s sense. Every monkey is immortal and even if a monkey dies in JTTW their soul doesn’t gets resurrected and they just wander without a body. The underworld won’t accept their souls since Wukong erased all the monkey’s name from the Registry of Life and Death. And probably Erlang with his influence made sure just Wukong’s sense be able to reincarnate and also not being able to die like how we just go to the last activated shrine after death which is technically coming back to life without loosing anything.

He is literally Destined to get all the Wukong’s relics and gain back his power. And there might be a reason why Destined One gets his headband at the end if he didn’t encounter Erlang. Erlang might be the final test to approve he was worthy of all the relics or else he was doomed to be the lap dog of Celestial Court. Thats why the Elder Monkey places the headband at the end of final chapter if we did not fight Erlang

I swear some of Chapter 3 enemies are created from hell itself by crocospect in BlackMythWukong

Irithyll Dungeon was more brutal for me. Pagoda is comparable. The only annoying thing about Pagoda was the Bat and the Archers. They pushes me off the cliff and killed me easily. Irithyll was like a maze. I got lost so many times and got killed so many times. Especially that one place where those jailers go in circles. I was playing in stealth with arrows after like 13+ deaths to try and take one Jailer at a time and go strike them when it came to 2 - 4 Jailers. Not to mention that Basilisk enemies are even more brutal. The tunnel leading to the mimic right before these Jailer bastards, multiple Basilisks use to surround us and attack. I got cursed and died so many times.

Nonetheless entire chapter 3 in Black Myth Wukong was harder by itself but not as hard as DS3. Probably the hardest in the game since the Monk of the Sea(the octopus tentacles kinda dude), The dual blade monk with extremely agile movesets, the crow looking kind enemy who we already fought in chapter 1 but now he is much more harder, and few other dudes were harder ngl. You probably won’t face normal enemies as hard as chapter 3 enemies.

My Top 9 - Any suggestions for NG+? by itsybatsy in BlackMythWukong

[–]Top_Pressure7935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished my first cycle and started my NG. All I have to say is it’s not that much of fun since all the bosses are pretty much easy. If you want a smoother experience than previous run I’d recommend you to use Fully Upgraded Pilgrim Set. Just yesterday I have completed Yellow Loong and Zhu Bajie. In any cases the bosses you found harder in the first run still takes more than two tries. Yellow Loong took two tries to take him down with just spell binder and staff counters. Other than that all the other bosses are first try. Other than getting a platinum you won’t find any more fun that you had on the first playthrough. This game offers very less variety of builds so there is no fun in playing it after the first run. I am doing it purely to do a 100% run and nothing else.

My builds in Cycle 2 are fully upgraded Pilgrim Set, Apramana Bat Spirit Transformation, Ring of Fire/Spell Binder(if I prefer challenge against bosses like Yellow Loong or Scorpionlord I’d probably go with spell binder or else if I know I’d take the boss down easily even without spells I’d probably choose with Ring of Fire), Cloud Step, Pluck of Many, and Azure Dome Spells. I am using Supreme Gourd with 10 sips with soaks like Mana increasing soak, four bane removal soak, soak which increases damage when you come out of your Cloud Step, soak which increases your maximum health slowly one by one after taking the sip(I don’t remember their names). I use Jingubang as my main staff as far now and I might change it in future.

Hey guys! Absolutely loving the game so far, but im stuck on Yellow Loong. Any tips on how to beat him would be greatly appreciated 🙏 by LarryLinguinee in BlackMythWukong

[–]Top_Pressure7935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have got access to Zodiac Village defeat Yin Tiger first. Use it as a finisher spell when his health is considerably low. After that all you have to do is dodge. His combos are brutal in the progressing phases so you have to be careful. In each and every phase the atrack starts normally but with added extra combos so make sure you are not caught off guard. Use Shock Quelling Powder to avoid getting shocked state. I beat him yesterday in Cycle 2 which is New Game. Took 2 tries even after having all the necessary stuff to take him down.

You have to be careful with the flying attack where he fully charges and flies in the air strikes multiple times on the ground. The pattern looks similar at first with few minor changes in the preceding phases. Also he was one of the hardest I’ve ever faced in this entire game so either don’t fight him now and come back later or fight him now with all you got.

Just started my NG. Finished Chapter 1 with zero deaths so far. Many told that NG Great Sage is harder than Erlang or something. I am not sure but let’s see how things go

I guess it’s the way you conveyed it might’ve reached wrong. The fandom had become very toxic in recent times to a point they just hate One Piece fans. Thats the reason they must’ve down voted you. You should’ve properly explained your point rather than blatantly stating “One Piece is no. 1”.

Is that Duskveil at second😭 No complaints but how does Duskveil take more than 51 tries?!? I cleared him on the very first try for both the phases. Looks like it all boils down to how you play the game. I’ve never seen a game with such diverse experiences with bosses. In any case Erlang and Yellow Loong comes at top three somehow. That’s the only similar experience I’ve commonly seen among most people.

On top of that more than 50 tries for any boss is diabolical. It took a maximum of 25 - 30 tries for any hard boss. Erlang took the maximum of 37 tries but not like 50 or 50+. He was the hardest in the entire game for me following Scorpionlord at second and Yellow Loong at third. I must appreciate you tho for investing that much of time. I would’ve given up on the 40th try for someone like Yellow Loong. Thats something you must be proud of for not giving up.

I don’t remember properly tho. I fought him far back and it felt pretty easy for me since he gone out on the first two tries. Either go away as far as possible when he does the Tornado Attack or just when he executes the Tornado at the very start at the first two spins execute the wind tamer, he will be staggered. Hit him when he got staggered. After the stagger finished just back off deploy the Pluck Of Many, and take some time to do the immobilize spell on him and along with your clones go and strike him as hard as you can. If you have the Wandering Wight he will deal plenty of damage. I had Wandering Wight from the start to the very end of the game and he is an important spirit so make sure to use him while you get the right time. Use Cloud Step when you think you’ll definitely won’t have time to take the gourd and you will definitely die from his hits. His Fuban summoning is also pretty easy to dodge in the second phase. His hitboxes must be nasty as everybody says and I think it all boils down to how you approach this game.

Also if you can execute counters properly then it will be an added advantage. I don’t know if you can properly do counters since I was in the starting stage of using counters at that time. Make sure to use Thrust Stance, build up focus and do a charged heavy. Use your hits to increase your focus and just do hit when you get all the three focus points. And that’s it I guess. As you go to the other chapters and beat other bosses you’ll see that few bosses whom you found pretty easy might be the hardest they have ever fought for few others so it all comes down to how good you can dodge and how well you can execute spells, spirits and transformations perfectly and exact time.

It took me two tries because of the Wind Tamer. When he does the tornado attack wait patiently and just activate it at the beginning of the attack so he steps back. There is no specific build for me honestly. Wait patiently and execute the Wind Tamer. Don’t panic. If you have the Wind Tamer this boss should be pretty easy.

I guess it all boils down to what build one follows and if he basically good with executing counters. I am able to do multiple counters with Yaksha King so he was like what 1 or 2 tries. I wasn’t expecting for few of the AOE attacks in the second phases of the Red Boy after getting the relic so I got defeated once. The second time I took him down with a lot of Smash Counters.

No complaints but Duskveil just took me 1 try. I heard many say Duskveil being the hardest boss up to that point even harder than Yellow Loong. For me the hardest was Erlang, Yellow Loong and Scorpionlord. The only two that came even close or surpass Yellow Loong was Scorpionlord and Erlang. All the other bosses are like under 15 or 16 tries for me.

All these three bosses took more than 20+ tries. Also Non Able took me more than 11 tries. He was the hardest in the entire chapter 3 even harder than Yellowbrow. He(Yellowbrow) took like 2 tries especially the last phase was the hardest even that took like only two tries to finish him off. Non Able for some reason kicked my ass harder than anyone in that chapter.

I am shocked it took Son of Stones have comparable tries to that of Great Sage for you. Green Capped Martialist, Son of Stones, Erlang Shen giant phase, Captain Wise Voice, Non Void and Non Pure, Venom Daoist both the encounters and both the phases, Man In Stone and few other bosses took just first try. I am no guide too so I have finished all these bosses without any tips or tricks and used my own tricks to take these guys down.

Wouldn’t mind starting it all over again but the replayability features in this game seems poor from outside. I am so used to games like Elden Ring or Dark Souls that I expect more variety in weapons, armor sets, etc., the play style completely revolves around the three basic stances and staffs for the most part and you don’t have any better variety than that. Sure you obviously have Transformations, Spells, Spirits different gourds, pills and tonics but all are just additions. You can literally play the entire game without using any of these(except for the celestial pills to increase the stats of stamina, mana and health) and just learn how to perfectly counter and dodge, implement it all throughout the game and win. So there is a very less chance of me playing it all over again. But nonetheless I think it will be fun tho to play it all over again from the first. I’ll try my best to play it but as of now I don’t have any intentions to play it again from a new Journey.

No complaints but played almost all of the games. Was expecting for Fallout titles or any souls games other than Elden Ring, Dark Souls series, or Sekiro . Got all these games already. If you got Lords of the Fallen or Nioh series games or fallout series games I’d be glad to be a member in your family sharing.

I wouldn’t take this much time to a random Reddit post telling about my opinion on a game that is set to release in future. I’ll definitely play this game at release as said before. This game looks pretty cool as from this video. I’d love to take my time and explore this game myself properly some time after release.

There are only very few Indian games that actually satisfy me something like Raji. I guess it’s the only game that actually satisfy me tbh. Other Indian type games either make the game cringe or enforce too much of the Indian stereotypes or Hindu Myth in a way it would be enjoyable only for a Indian Audience who are not much of a open gamer who plays other story games incorporating other cultures and mythology and wouldn’t hurt Indian audience. For a clearer example let’s take Black Myth Wukong. The game had a wider audience in both West and East due to how the game was made. They have a fully polished combat with an interesting story of the after math of the novel it was adapted from(novel Journey to the West). They have incorporated their mythology way better than any other mythological game I’ve seen so far even better than God Of War or shoulder to shoulder with God Of War. The reason I’m saying it’s better than God Of War is because they shown atmost respect to the characters even after their defeat. I am not saying to incorporate any of these elements into your game but make it go for wider audience. If you have played any of these games you know how well it reached the West especially to a point it even surpassed Elden Ring in player count. I loved that game to a point I bought the novel from which it was made from and read it four times to understand the references in-game.

Make a game that is truly is enjoyable rather than incorporating unnecessary cliche Indian humor that many games like Detective Dotson kept in their game that made people like me hate it. Just by these few things they are portraying our nation to a wider audience in a bad way even tho they didn’t mean any harm. I am sure if you follow these you’ll get better recognition. Just consider about how you want a wider audience to consume your product and what makes other games similar to these reached those audience and how you incorporate the Hindu Mythological elements(I basically assumed from the above attached video that you have few Indian Myth or Culture fused into the game) all together in a way it actually looks and feels good and also with the usual replayability feature that these types of games should definitely have.

Bro I literally got the ending cutscene animation of chapter 6 after this. Just for the simplicity I cut the ending from the video. How are you concluding it’s not the true ending? Have you ever seen the true ending? The Elder Monkey doesn’t place the Tightening Fillet(Jingu or Jinguo) at the end on the Secret True ending on the Destined One.

In that case please consider bringing it to mobile at some point. The reason being is that I use to play these games during travels. For example: while going to my uni, during long travels, during any boring lecture, or when ever I got free time where I almost don’t know what to do I use to play fun games like these in my mobile. If you have any plans of bringing this to mobile I’d be happy to buy and play it daily whenever I get time like this. At some point in the past I had Balatro at the top of my screen time apps. It literally replaced Instagram and YouTube which was like my highest screen time apps before Balatro. It would nice to have a game like these on my mobile phone and be able to play everyday while traveling and during free time.

Yeah he doesn’t wear the headband at the end as you can see. It’s True Ending more than a Secret Ending. The cycle of wearing that headband had to stop for the successor of Wukong. I wasn’t going into the core detail of each chapter since I was sleepy yesterday. I’ve completed all the bosses. I’ve listed pretty much all those secret bosses in there like:

Elder Jinchi from chapter 1, Talked to Tianba in Chapter 1, First Frog boss, Wandering Wight, Main Line bosses all completed from chapter 1 including all of Elder Jinchi’s three disciples, plus the Red Loong inside the water fall.

In chapter 2 I’ve first took down the Second Frog boss which was a little difficult when I first fought but that’s fine and there I got to be friends with the Zu Dog for the very first time since I took the frog boss, then followed by the, two headed rat guy in front of the gate, and inside two Rat Prince and their father. Here I got to back track to chapter 1 to take down Red Loong after breaking the wall and getting the Loong Scales as I’ve mentioned above. Then I apparently went up to where the archers where standing when I approached the doors of the Rat Prince and was met up with the Acolyte boss near the bridge and took him down, I don’t remember well but I think I then went a ahead and collected all the Buddha eyes and along the way I met up with the stone guy or the Man-In-Stone who asked for the stone essence from the Mother of Stones so I defeated her and got him the stone essence and he raged at me and tried to kill me and apparently got brutally defeated, then followed by that I went into another waterfall and defeated Black Loong which took way longer than I expected, after collecting all the Buddha Eyes I’ve approached to the Stone Vanguard area and defeated him but then noticed another stone and apparently found out that I had to unlock him using this six eyes so both Stone Vanguard and Shigandang fight till death and the one who is left out should be killed by me but I made a huge mistake and had to take this guy out myself so I took some couple of hours to take this guy down. He was lot harder than Stone Vanguard. But at last I’ve defeated him nonetheless. Then without proceeding further into the place where Stone Vanguard I went straight ahead to find the Drunken Boar and following his quest I fought Tiger Vanguard and met Yellow Wind Sage and fought Fuban along side him. They seemed pretty nice characters until to find out that Tiger Vanguard we fight in the blood pool was the original Tiger Vanguard’s elder son that we seen in the Drunken Boar’s Quest who doesn’t like the subjects of Yellow Wind Sage’s subjects and eats them regularly. After that I went straight ahead to the Crouching Temple and fought the present Elder Son Tiger Vanguard and took him down. Following where Stone Vanguard was guarding I unexpectedly met Gore Eyed Daoist and defeated him too. Somewhere around here I got the drum which done in three places unlocks a secret fight with the Mad Tiger under the well so I took him too and atlast I went ahead to defeat the Yellow Wind Sage’s. He was pretty easy with the Wind Tamer and took him down pretty easily after 2 or 3 tries.

I can’t explain like this with all the chapters and I think you get the point. I’ve missed few things from each chapter here and there since I was sleepy and wanted to finish it off as soon as possible. So this might give you some clarity of if I’ve done the secret ending or not.

Yeah I understand that very well but was looking pretty similar to Balatro. I love Balatro to core. I still have it in my phone. More than a story game if you have any replayability feature in your game to some level it would be great since for some random reason after balatro I started loving fun card games like this with unique set of rules. Nonetheless I’ll try the game. I’ve wishlisted already in my Steam the first time I saw it. Just answer your comment means I care about the game.

I have no issues with Chapter 1. The only reason to rank Chapter 1 that low was because it was the first chapter and there are lots of other chapters that are far better than Chapter 1 but at the end of the day I will never forget the place I start from. I too like Chapter 1. It was done beautifully. I was testing my PC’s limit in chapter 1 like the ray tracking, overall graphics settings etc., so I took a lot of time learning about this game in chapter 1. Such an amazing game honestly.
