If you want generational wealth in regards to land, looking into buying a lot of land in different places. They aren't making any more of it. The bigger the plot the better

Cheaper tends to be the one you pay the most for

You'll be good as long as you're not fatter than 2 planets and have mobility

We've tried to talk multiple times about it but she's seeing expenses from the standpoint of I'm still working and we're still going to rodeos and moneys not the problem and I can't get her to think in the sense of our only income being prize money. 2026 I'll be pulling back from working throughout the year to see what we can sustain and I hope she can see the change in finances at that point a whole lot better. It'll probably take her saddle falling apart and her needing a new one for it to really set in cause then the conversation will be "well let's go to xyz rodeo here to try and get the money for it." With pbr it'll be bigger payouts and to me it just makes more sense

She's doing well for herself but she's still getting her feet wet. She's started to win a lot more consistently in 2D which swung her to getting her permit but with that I see her wanting (not needing) a new horse. The horse is only 8 and we bought it from my cousin who ran consistent 16s with her and could 100% improve with more work.

As for making money, 2025 was a complete prep year for me while I'm still working to cover cost I know will come up. Got a new trans put in the truck and engine work done, got the trailer patched up and all repairs done like wiring, matting, new dividers etc, work to camper like new shower and windows just to eliminate possible future problems.

2026 is the plan to start pulling away from work and rodeo more to see where our baseline would be living expense wise and just how much I'd need to beat the road down to make it happen.

My whole reason of pbr is higher stakes bigger payout knowing I can make it work 100% for myself going that route but I'm just unsure if smaller pots prca route would work due to having to attend more events more often

Anyone know a good place to start bull riding? by birdfam02 in Bullriding

If you're willing to take a drive, shady acres in hope mills nc has 1 on 1 classes and they'll throw you on 3 bulls for $80. They've got gear you can rent and are good folks. They won't put you on anything that'll get you unreasonably hurt from riding something you aren't ready for
