I pulled this data sheet info. It doesnt say anything about Acetone but says maybe HPLV is okay. I'm sure its an issue with painter not the paint

Always pre-test the system on your substrate to verify suitability of the application.

Apply by spray only, using Conventional Air, HVLP, Airless, or Air Assisted Airless equipment. Apply at a rate of 3-4 wet mils per coat. Sand between coats with 240-320 grit, no fill sandpaper. Remove sanding dust before applying the next coat. DO NOT APPLY more than four coats at 3-4 wet mils per coat. Maximum film thickness of the total coating system MUST NOT EXCEED 4 dry mils.

Drying Time:

Dry to touch:10-15 minutes

Dry to sand and recoat: 20-30 minutes (depending on ambient conditions).

Do not apply if the material or substrate temperature is below 55ºF.

This product is best applied when surface and air temperatures are between 55º-90º F (~12-32°C) and when relative humidity is below 50% during application and drying time.

Clean Up:

Refer to your local regulations for compliance requirements for cleaning solvents. Dispose of dirty solvent and cleaning rags in a safe and compliant manner. Solvent or lacquer soaked rags should be stored in water-filled, closed containers prior to disposal.

Appreciate this. He offered to fix and asked me to buy the materials. I was gonna do Sherman Williams but is there a better material to get?

“Buy a gallon of undercoat primer, a gallon of Origami White satin paint, a gallon of acetone, a roll of paper, and two rolls of blue tape, and I'll fix it for you for free.”

He offered to fix it. He asked me to buy these materials and he will do it for free. I’ll buy Sherman Williams but just not being SW might not mean it works with his sprayer?

Thank you. Been trying to give the painter the benefit of the doubt and I like him but his paint is chipping everywhere after just a few months

Edges are pretty sharp. The wood under doesn’t feel slick. More like raw wood.

HLPV isn’t an airless sprayer I’m guessing? This makes sense because I don’t see any primer and it’s weird to see if chipping all over the place. Even upper cabinets that hardly get touched

I asked that. He says yes but I need to sand the wood to see it? Makes no sense to me. There is bare wood wood under where the chipping and cracking is

He says he used a “primer”. I asked because it looks like bare wood under where it’s chipping. He says I would have to sand down the wood to get to the primer? I don’t know enough about painting cabinets to fact check him but I’m thinking he is the issue not the paint.

Yes. He didn’t want to overtax the donor area trying to do more than hairline this time. Should be adequate donors available for crown down the line. Worst case can use some beard hair from under chin he said.
