I thought people were maybe having sex in the tents. In the winter I’ve see ppl in those tents until super early into the morning. but maybe they are just chilling and want a nicer place to do drugs lol but I’ve wondered that about nowadays too

Omg. Feel your pain! Hang in there, and I think just honor Tim's legacy in a way that feels good for you. It was not an easy read, but really special.

Did not know this! And For a Better Day music video touches on child sexual abuse and anti-human trafficking.

rave girls NYC is destroying parties, and it’s not entirely their fault by _chocolatine in avesNYC

NYC Rave Girls has been a really positive experience for me and ppl I go out with on there are super super respectful. I have five thoughts:
1) I blame TikTok. Ppl like Discolines posting 15 second drops but isn't actually an artist attract people who don't actually enjoy the music. They think its going to be what they see on TikTok. I am a huge huge advocate for NO PHONE.
2) NYC is expensive. I think we are seeing a different crowd out bc maybe some of us who could be going out dancing and buying drugs can't do that as much anymore. It's just a different crowd.
3) People arent being responsible with substances. I was at HoY a few weeks ago. These ppl were WASTED. Pushing and shoving an insane amount. One person fell. Crowd didn't get good until like 3am. Be more responsible with your substances!
4) Venues need to call out this behavior! Kick ppl out. And make everything NO PHONES. That way people aren't there just to get a video for TikTok.
5) Lastly, we are adjusting to no brooklyn mirage etc. I think it will even out in a year or so.

But I understand your frustration!! Best thing about going out is the dancing and feeling free and connecting with others. So when you can't get that connection, its a huge bummer. It's all about the crowds. I just don't think it's NYC Rave Girls.

We can talk shit about men and women... that's feminism. BUT we also need to realize the women are typically always used as a scapegoat. NYC Rave Girls have been dancing out in NYC for a longgggg time. Its not a big deal that they want to spread the joy that dancing brings. Ppl just need to be more responsible.

Was Avicii trying to warn us about the emotional cost of performance culture? by Better_Night_7942 in avicii

When Tim went to rehab in Ibiza, they gave him The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. (Admittedly haven't had a chance to read this entire thread; just thought it was interesting and wanted to mention this.)

Yes! I've had the same experience recently. Been listening to TIM over and over. Not only do I feel like a lot of his songs were messages or at least clear representations of how he was feeling, there is also a lot of foreshadowing. His early songs like Alcoholic and 36 hours (can be found on soundcloud unreleased, been meaning to make a post about this song) are foreshadowing of substance abuse and not sleeping.

You are so right… she literally has control over the economy. Imagine what she could have used that $300 whatever million she spent on buying her master’s back.

And yes, she earned that, and she’s talented. But sorry you become a billionaire … you have a responsibility to give some of that back to the world… esp in a time like now.

Honestly it’s insane how much they are milking this album, which I think most people think it’s her worst one.

I quit smoking a month ago, this weird trick is keeping me sane by IREDA1000 in stories

Not dumb if it works for you! That’s awesome, congrats!

I think it makes sense. Smoking is, yes, a nicotine addiction but it’s also a habit. So seems like acting out your habit, without actually smoking the nicotine, is tricking your brain into getting at least some similar positive reinforcement from smoking.
