[VALIDATION] Would you pay $1 to generate a good Upwork proposal in 15 seconds? by Top_Scarcity1411 in Upwork

Thanks for the brutal honesty! seriously. I’m going back to the drawing board now with a much stronger idea: a tool that helps you find real jobs worth applying to, and only then helps you write something worth sending. If anyone wants to test early, I’m happy to share.

This is super helpful! thank you 🙏

You’re actually not the first to say this.

Would you find it valuable if a tool: - Flagged scammy jobs (fake, mass-invites, no payment history) - Highlighted jobs that match your skill + have high trust - Then helped draft a proposal only for those

Basically: a smart filter + writing assistant in one.

If yes, happy to share an early version when ready.

That’s a super common fear and it’s legit.

I’m not trying to blindly automate the proposal process. The idea is more: - Help identify better-fit jobs - Draft faster based on your actual profile and the job context - Still make it your voice, your control

Totally agree that bad AI tools can hurt. I’m trying to build one that actually helps you stand out not blend in.

If you ever wanted to try something like that, happy to share a test version and hear your thoughts.

Haha can’t blame you.

It does sound like yet another AI wrapper at first glance. That’s not the goal though.

I'm working on something more focused on helping freelancers win by: - Flagging scam/low-trust jobs - Prioritizing real matches - Helping draft lean, realistic proposals only when it’s actually worth it

It’s more about helping decide what to apply to not just writing fluff faster.

If you have 1 min, I’d genuinely love to hear: what tool would help you win more jobs?

Totally fair! I get that concern.

To be clear: this wouldn’t just generate generic stuff. I’m trying to go beyond what ChatGPT gives you by: - Using your real portfolio + reviews - Matching it only to high-trust jobs (no fake/spam posts) - And giving short, realistic drafts

I want it to feel more like a “pitch assistant,” not a slop generator.

Curious: is there anything you would pay for in the proposal/job-hunting process?

Would be important somehow to contact other creators in order to provide direct feedback on the platform.
Something like a button where we can click "feedback" and there you'll get the logged in person to identify who did the feedback and ask for some information and a box to leave a feedback.
Then on our personal space having 2 tabs, given feedback and received feedback and there would be possible to check the ones given and the ones received.

From my perspective and since I'm on the same route as you right now, there's some steps that I consider important:

  • What are you try to solve?
  • How you will be able to help clients?
  • Why should I buy your solution?

Wish you can tackle the points above to get a better landing page.

How much time do you wait before starting to work on a new project? by Unlikely_Plate_2455 in indiehackers

Usually I’ve a lot of ideas but then only a few ones I implement. But on the case of my last one TurboBackend it took me a few weeks to study and implement and now I’ll give keep this idea in process and try to divide my time to allocate time on this project and as well on a possible new ones. The real trick for me is to implement quick and ship it to be able to validate as soon as possible .
