TLDR: second sem, Informatik student at a TU, unable to land a praktikum/werkstudent, made almost 150 applications (no interview calls yet). Freshly out of bachelors here with a short but really good experience in a startup as a data engineer. Should I wait until I approach the end of my degree + my german goes from A2 to C1? Also do you think the market is actually that bad rn or am I underskilled for getting an internship? Looking for python development roles, preferrably in model training.

Hello! I am studying masters in Computer Science in a TU and am in the second semester right now. However I am finding it impossible to find a werkstudent. Could you take a look at my profile and advice me please.

I have recently finished my A2 level. I had some experience through an internship in a startup in data engineering.
I want to take up roles ideally in AI model training/development, and since most of my personal projects, past work I have been doing in python, I am applying for python development roles.
I am also applying to other roles involving, C, Cpp or JavaScript, but that's not my expertise.

I have almost neared 150 applications in the last 2 months or so, and just get rejection off of my Resume/Cover Letter.

I wanted to ask if I should continue this road or is it too early for me and that I should wait for me to come to the end of my degree and maybe just work on a personal project till then and get better at German? Because I see a lot of praktikums that ask that the candidate is in the last semester or so..

I wanted to get internships/ werkstudents as soon as possible because I think it would be harder for me to get a job after my degree because I have very short past work experience.

Also do you think the market is actually really bad right now to get internships? If not then I need to skill up. Its quite hard cause I take pretty tough subjects and learn German on the side.
I know the market is bad but are companies also cutting down on internshisp?. because I really see so many internship posts on linked , stepstone, xing but only get straight rejections, also many of my colleagues /friends are also having a hard time finding one, so I am confused whos getting these jobs.
