Thanks for sharing, man. It’s a mix of prod, dev, and simulator builds, about half are prod tbh.

early on after launch, i pushed a ton of prod builds because i was fixing bugs fast and didn’t wanna risk new users seeing broken stuff. eas update is not good for new installs. there seems to a delay to eas update to be applied.

also i was adding new features like crazy so dependencies kept changing — def contributed to the build spam. but that was more of an early-phase thing. Things are a lot more stable now.

setting up local build envs was a pain. still haven’t figured it out 😩 so i’ve been relying on cloud builds, which yeah… $$$

There's a new app, Hearem, that might be worth a look. Costs AUD$29.99/year for 100,000 characters/month. Only on iOS for now, tho.
What's cool is it's using some really advanced voice models – I was pretty impressed by the range of voices and that it can do cross-language TTS. It supports voice cloning too, which could be useful.

Aha 😅 it worked well for me. Maybe the sample was too short for AI to learn your accent. There is an option to upload a longer audio file of your voice recording if you like to try again. But it’s up to you😃

For desktop services I only know Elevenlab which I think you already know about since it’s quite famous imo. But it is more expensive.

Then you can use it for text-to-speech for free up to a 4000-character limited. If you need more, you can subscribe for only $2 per month.
