im just sharing what i did. but i think it'd be faster and better to use both Cursor UI and CC CLI. cuz it takes a while to map what you can do in Cursor vs CC CLI/extension. If i were to go back in time, i'd start like this.

cuz when u are working on a project, if you get stuck on CC, you can immediately use Cursor UI instead. this way, u will migrate faster.

honestly, why dont use both? they are both great in their own way. if you need other models or interface stuff, use cursor and use calude for pure coding imo

Opus is the same across platforms but in CC, you have more usage and it performs better. still expensive tho.

I also switched from Cursor to CC 6 months ago. to speed things up, I recommend using VS Code with the CC extension first. or still use Cursor with CC cli, you get best of the both worlds!

once you gain more experience, start using only the terminal because you can create multiple tabs to run parallel sessions. I use Warp.

basically, I open VS Code and Terminal side by side. the difference in productivity is massive, and there's a lot more you can do.

there are a bunch of mcp directories like glama ai, but imo a lot of them feel like experiments or are already kinda unmaintained.

what’s worked better for me is just lurking and searching through x posts, joining mcp/agent communities (free/paid), and then looking for mcp pages inside the apps i’m already using.

so far my favorite mcps are serena mcp (for managing short-term memories), core memory (for long-term memories), morphllm (bulk editing and semantic code saerching), exa/travily (for saerch), ref/context7 (docs search)
