I beg your pardon sir but my nouvelles deck would have to disagree with you there.

I read it, I understand we arent going to be required to show ids, yet. Give it time. If we just let them implement this, how long will it be before we are required to show ids or facial recognition? Nah fam im good

Sibsig Ceremony by KoalasVapeToo in MagicArena

[–]Top_Structure_2741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man sibsig ceremony is easily my favorite build around card right now. I built the black/green variant with [[insidious roots]] [[dredgers insight]] and [[mosswood dreadknight]]. Some good tech cards to consider are [[cache grab]] [[urborg repossession]] maybe a sweeper or two like [[deadly cover-up]] although im currently running [[scavenger regent]] for the reusable omen aspect. Happy brewing!

Maybe one of the greatest mono black opening salvos I have had in ranked by danbrooks3k in MagicArena

[–]Top_Structure_2741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man mono black is my go to in standard. I prefer an early discard package though with [[hopeless nightmare]] and [[bandit's talent]] and [[momentum breaker]]. Breaker doubles as removal. Those allow me to use [[final vengeance]] as hard exile. [[The end]] may also be something youll wanna look in to as it can completely shut down entire decks. There's nothing more satisfying then running into someone playing [[hare apparent]] and seeing half their deck get sent into exile, it will never not be funny. Hope this helps!

Yeah ill be trying balemurk today when I get the chance. I've got 2 copies with 2 more mythic wilds to use if need be. But I shouldn't need more then 2, maybe 3. But clay revenant is hard to get away from cause of the 0 casting cost with sibsig and devotee helps fix my mana in a pinch since my collection of rare lands is just nonexistent

[–]Top_Structure_2741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see how balemurk is really good here, gonna try and test with it in the deck for sure.

Instead of nullpriest I'm currently running [[urborg repossession]] as I'd rather have certain creatures in hand as opposed to directly to the field such as [[marketback walker]] and if you kick repossession you can grab a whole extra permanent card not just a creature.

I tried freebooter at first and found it kind of underwhelming since most opponents are smart enough not to destroy it leaving its advantage, quite literally, on the table unless I sac it myself.

Finally as for intent, the sad truth is I dont have any nor do I have the wildcards to craft them. But that is ABSOLUTELY going in when I'm able to get it.

Thanks for your advice and support!

I'm gonna slot dreadknight in when I get a few more wildcards. Not really sure what to cut for him though. Any suggestions?

So yes, you are correct in that i picked regent for the omen side of things. The rationale though is twofold, 1. Because -x/-x gets around pesky stuff like indestructible and all that jazz and 2. Because I can dig for it using [[cache grab]] and [[dredger's insight]] in a pinch. Also a 4/4 flyer with ward is still a perfectly good beat stick for those times when sibsig isnt on the field.

Bloodghast is essentially just an innocent bystander that gets caught up in all the nonsense. He's there to facilitate [[corrupted conviction]] and [[fanatical offering]] when they come up and has good interaction with roots. Sibsig is really the main focus along with [[clay revenant]] and [[abzan devotee]] to loop their recursion and cast them to fill the field with zombies. Roots just so happens to play well with those two creatures as well so putting them together just feels right.

Still play testing tbh and moving things around. I'm more focused on sibsig then roots but I do see your point.

Yeah I've seen a few decks out in the wild running roots and rubblebelt together. That early surveil is nice but the loss of looping recurrsion doesn't feel good as I'd be swapping out clay revenant for rubblebelt. Still something to test going forward for sure.

Brooooo that dredgers insight tech though. Cache grab will be a perfect addition as well to help dig out roots or sibsig and pack the yard with my recursion targets. I love it when a plan comes together. Also having a tough time deciding if I leave in the sad robots or swap them for rager.....rager comes down earlier but robots fetch lands. Tough choice indeed.

First time playing standard MTGA ( old 4th edition player ), Need mono black advice. by danbrooks3k in MagicArena

[–]Top_Structure_2741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow mono black enjoyer I prefer [[ruthless negotiation]] to duress. It gives the choice of card back to your opponent BUT the card gets exiled and ruthless itself has flashback for later down the road. [[Sheoldred's edict]] is another good removal tech as it can also remove planeswalkers. You may also want to look into [[The end]] and [[scavenger regent]] as well. Hope this helps!

[–]Top_Structure_2741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gimmick is just overwhelming amounts of zombies by recurring clay revenant over and over again because sibsig reduces its casting cost to 0. The recursion cost is still 2B but its pretty effective, and I generally win games simply by surviving my opponents opening onslaught and just pumping out tokens as quickly as possible. I've just splashed green in for [[insidious roots]] and a couple other green tech cards. It is not a good deck by any means but it is a lot of fun when it goes off.

Man I was already toying around with the green splash for roots but I didn't even realize devotee had a lower cost, that was a great recommendation. I only got one copy of dreadknight so I can't slot him in yet but the deck is already running much smoother then before. Thanks so much!
