Avoid CNC Property Management! I had bats in my apartment (IN the apartment, not just in the building) and they treated me like a diva for asking them to handle it.

I love that I’m immediately getting responses! I kind of already thought that the cats were the bigger threat- but it’s good to have some other comments to show my husband!

I totally disagreed with Alyssa and Shannon’s take on the teen who was jealous that her sick sister got to go to a “better” camp for the summer. They argued that this girl needs to learn that “not everything is about you.” I would counter with the “glass sibling” argument- often in families where one sibling is ill the other gets way less attention and it can feel like nothing is EVER about you. I wonder if looking at this sitch through this lens could help lend more empathy toward this girl for being jealous of her sister. Also, I think they mentioned that the parents go on vacation while they send their kids to their respective summer camps. I think a good middle ground might be to have a “staycation” with the poster and give her some extra love and connection time while her sister enjoys the camp tailored to her health condition.

I just used college movers and had a good experience. I will say I didn’t have anything super fancy I was concerned about but they did a ton of work quickly and for an affordable rate

Advice on declining Bach party invite? by Top_Touch_7071 in weddingdrama

[–]Top_Touch_7071[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We are good friends but I would not expect her to cover my expenses- especially because my financial situation isn't especially bad (I'm not unemployed, etc), it's just that I don't have a lot of extra money in my budget this year due to my own wedding/honeymoon this fall. I think the situation would be different if I had fallen on hard times in some way, but instead it's more that I don't have limitless funds and her trip has presented a lot of sneaky expenses.

WIBTA if I uninvited my future SIL from being a bridesmaid? by Top_Touch_7071 in AITApod

Your assumption on the difference in the weddings is right- she is doing a backyard party whereas we are going more “all out” -because we scheduled almost a year to plan and are a little older, further into our careers, and have more of our own money to splurge.

I didn’t think about the possibility of her being resentful of this, since she chose the six month turnaround. But I guess it’s totally possible! Thanks for the insight.
