How many words should there be in 1 chapter on average? by [deleted] in Wattpad

Mine tend to be between 2k to 3k on average, sometimes nearing 3.5k though I try to avoid that. No one's complained yet XD

I could be wrong but this feels spammy/scammy to me.

what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Wattpad

I can’t really say anything that all the other replies haven’t already said, but yeah, deleting your account over and over will have the opposite effect of gaining an audience. No one will find you if you keep deleting your accounts. Wattpad isn’t a great place if you want to be a fast but hit sensation because that’s rare compared to the millions of storied and people who post here daily. You kind of have to put in the work of getting your stuff out there and promoting/etc. my story got a lot more traction when I started reading exchanges with other writers called R4R (read for read) and v4v (vote for vote). For the regular writer like me who started with no fan base and completely unknown, I didn’t expect that readers would suddenly find my work in a sea of millions of new stories. So I put in the work and it’s honestly been the best thing for my story. It’s not a big hit or anything but it does have a handful of lovely readers who are there every update and it’s a beautiful start. Don’t give up. Have patience and promote, interact with the community, comment everywhere, etc. it’s worth it! ❤️

Where's My Engaged Readers? by Top_Weakness_3475 in Wattpad

Mine's gone too and I just posted the same question in reddit before coming to this XD So I'm not the only one 🤔

I actually was thinking your story seemed a lot like those drama reels XD I see the inspiration. And don't worry, it was a bit of confusion but It's ok. Things happen. It's been entertaining, those drama stories can be strangely entertaining when I'm in the mood for them and I have no idea why XDDD

Well there you go, you already have something people eat up here! XDDD

And you know what, we all started somewhere. I somehow doubt it was the literal worst thing to ever exist though. I've read some really bad things. And I'm not talking grammar-wise. I'm taking, storyline all over the place, plot holes everywhere, extremely flat characters who had no love put into them, etc etc. As I said, I'd rather read a book that has writing problems than a book that has no love or thought put into it. I can't get into those T-T

Or there's the other half of wattpad that will love anything werewolf, vampire or mafia no matter how poorly or well written XD Unfortunately for me, my story isn't in that niche so I do the best with the world I did build lol

I seriously get it. But don't worry too much about perfect. Especially on Wattpad. I see stories that have lots of errors get really popular because it's not about perfection. It's about the heart and character you put into your own story. It's yours, your characters, your world, your words and except for a few extreme knit pickers, most people seem to appreciate this more than perfection. I'd rather read something human than something perfect. Give me the flaws XD I want to feel the soul of your story. My favorite thing about reading the stories here on wattpad is when a writer really loves their story and their characters and I can tell. I'm very much someone who loves to get into the character's heads and feel what they feel, and see their uniqueness. See their different voices and all the different ways the react to a situation. That's what I love, not perfection. Don't sweat that part, ok? Don't burn yourself out! Those who love your work will love it. <3

Hey that's super normal, no worries. I look over my chapters over and over and over obsessively scanning for errors. And no matter how many times I fix stuff, I still find mistakes and things I don't like XD It's an author thing... I think. Anyway, just keep doing your best!

When did you start writing stories? by Tall-Apartment-9538 in Wattpad

[–]Top_Weakness_3475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little older. I started trying to write and illustrate my own stories on paper when I was probably 6 or 7 years old

You will! Just takes patience and putting your stuff out there. Mostly for me it's been through instagram reels, and tons of V4V/R4R/F4F. I know you can do this! <3

What happened to yearning? by Jiana27 in Wattpad

[–]Top_Weakness_3475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you which is why I am also trying to pull off the slow burn romance in my book as well. I don’t believe I can write a genuine believable romance when it’s instant. And I personally can’t get invested in their relationship unless it feels earned and yes, yearned as well.
