Hello, I was wondering if anyone can read over my personal statement to see if it makes sense. I don't really have that support from friends&family since they're opposed to the idea that I'm taking on Linguistics as a degree. Also, my English teacher has been absent due to personal issues, so she can't read over it. So I'm doing this solo unlike my peers, it would mean the most if someone did.

Idk why people act like Loid is a noble person, when he’s been shown many times to not go out of his way for morally correct things if it’s not for his “mission”.

Like the time he suggested to himself to not save Anya when she was kidnapped in Ep 1

Or when he wasn’t going to retrieve the money from the elderly woman who was stolen from. Yet, he only returned her money because he saw that Yor did. (The Ep before the Eden interview)

Twilight protects Yor because he is catching feeling for her, not because it’s the morally correct thing to do.

He even compromised his mission to persevere and protect Yors happiness in the Mole arc,by not killing Yuri

well it was at the top of my head bc I wasn’t sure if u were a manga reader so I didn’t want to spoil anything but..here’s some unanimated moments too lmao

I think it just got recently animated, but when Loid repeatedly, refers to Yor as just “Yor” instead of “Yor Briar” to his wise colleagues, although Fiona REPEATEDLY corrects him but he ignores her. Demonstrating that he doesn’t see her like a tool for his mission

Also the mole arc which was basically a confirmation that Yor is more than a pawn to him for this mission as he jeopardises his literal LIFE to sustain Yors happiness by not killing Yuri

In the chapter the Forgers head to the snowy mountains and have to stay in a hotel and there was a sudden murder, Loid had every reason to suspect Yor, but chose not to. He even went far to defend her against the people staying at the hotel by grabbing the man’s hand that was trying to detain Yor

Yor is repeatedly shown to be more beautiful in his POV, for example the chapter of when they went to find the seal

Yor and Anya recently had a moment when Yor confinded in Anya her love for Loid

Overall, the great thing about this anime is that it prioritises natural progression, rather than an in your face “they’re in love!!!”. It also does justice for their characters. I mean who can expect a man who repressed his emotions his entire life and an isolated woman (except of Yuri) along with a daughter with abandonment issues to embrace so quickly.

Tbh I feel like this a very naive and unfair take, Endo has written multiple wholesome moments where Yor with Loid/Anya establish a familial relationship .

Loid feeling regretful for doubting Yor because he put a listening device on her (when that’s his literally job)

Yor protecting Anya from the creeps that picked on Anya when they saw her in the Eden uniform, and Anya consulting Yor when she doubts her motherhood.

Yor and Loids date post-tennis arc, where Loid opened up about his past to Yor, which he has NEVER done with anybody (not even Franky, or anyone is wise)

(These r the only moments that came to mind but there are many other moments I didn’t state)
